We were thrilled to join members of Fulham Good Neighbours Art Club this morning to celebrate the unveiling of their artwork "Fulham Through the Seasons' which is taking pride of place on our hoarding at our Hartopp and Lannoy Point development in partnership with Hammersmith & Fulham Council. This stunning 14 metre artwork certainly captures the iconic landscapes, community spirit and beauty of the changing seasons. 🎓Exciting day at the Lewisham College - University and Apprenticeship Fair🎓 Last week we had the pleasure of speaking with students and teachers at Lewisham College about our Deptford Landings development and the variety of apprenticeship and work experience placements available within Higgins. We connected with over 50 students, sharing insights on the benefits of apprenticeships and offering tips for successful applications. Last week we attended a careers networking session at Ark Walworth Academy in South London engaging with four groups of ten students to share insights into careers in construction and social value. The event, organised in collaboration with the Construction Youth Trust, provided a fantastic opportunity for students to explore various career paths, ask questions, and understand how their skills can align with future opportunities. These sessions are incredibly valuable for helping young people develop their professional networks early on and gain real-world knowledge from industry experts. By interacting directly with professionals, students are able to envision themselves in different career trajectories and receive practical advice to guide their journey. It was inspiring to see their enthusiasm and curiosity, and we are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to their career exploration. We are proud to be partnering with the London Borough of Hillingdon to regenerate Hayes Town Centre and Avondale Drive estates, bringing much-needed, high-quality homes to the community. 🏡 The first phase will deliver 110 new homes—30 at Avondale and 80 at Hayes Town Centre—with residents expected to move in next Summer. In total, 740 new homes will be created, featuring a mix of tenures, including council rent, shared ownership, private sale, and homes for returning leaseholders. We’re thrilled to be just over halfway through our latest course in partnership with Eat Club Org and Set The Vibe, and it’s been incredible to see the progress the participants have made so far. Last week our young chefs took on an exciting menu, preparing:   🍢 Greek Gyro 🌿 Tahini chickpeas and halloumi with garlic yogurt 🍫 Chocolate flapjacks for dessert   Over the course of the programme, all attendees have enjoyed delicious meals prepared during the sessions, while a slightly smaller number of participants—all at the appropriate ages to safely learn and practice cooking—have been honing their culinary skills. These sessions aren’t just about making great food; they’re about empowering young people with essential life skills, teaching them the importance of healthy eating, introducing them to food sustainability and on a budget. It’s been inspiring to see their confidence grow in the kitchen with each session.   We're committed to making a lasting impact in the communities we work with, and initiatives like Junior Chef’s Kitchen play a key role in this. It was great to be back at Curwen Primary School in Newham this month for some inspiring construction workshops through our partnership with Inspire 2 Ignite CIC.   As a company, we are committed to giving back to the local community and inspiring the next generation. Through our work linked to our John Street development, we assisted students in learning key essential skills, as championed by the Skills Builder Partnership Programme: Listening, Speaking, and Teamwork — all through the hands-on wall building activities, learning about and trying on PPE and some worksheet activities.   The students learnt about the importance of PPE, safety on-site, and the variety of roles within the construction industry, from bricklaying to project management. Thank you to everyone who attended, including Jamie McPhee from Box & Charnock Ltd, who generously donated £100 to such a worthy cause, along with residents of York Way Estate, City of London, and our Higgins Site Team for their contributions and delicious cakes.
