At Greenhill Centre in Newham, we are delivering 81 affordable, low-energy homes in partnership with London Borough of Newham. Designed by Haworth Tompkins, these homes will achieve Passivhaus Classic certification, ensuring lower energy costs, improved comfort, and better air quality for residents. Of the 81 homes, 56 will be available at London Affordable Rent, while 25 will be offered for low-cost shared ownership, with partial funding from the Greater London Authority. 🔙 Throwback to last month’s topping-out event at Deptford Landings, where we joined our partners at Peabody, Mayor of Lewisham Brenda Dacres, and Lewisham Council to celebrate a major milestone - the topping out of 189 fully affordable, low-energy homes in southeast London. This project will be one of the UK’s largest single-phase Passivhaus developments, ensuring residents benefit from lower energy costs, enhanced comfort, and improved air quality. The 100% affordable scheme will deliver a mix of social rent and shared ownership homes, supporting local families from the council’s housing waiting list and helping first-time buyers step onto the property ladder. We were delighted to take part in the Construction Insight Session at Shooters Hill Sixth Form, giving students the opportunity to engage with employers from across the industry. The session allowed students aged 16+ to ask questions about various career paths, required qualifications, and different entry routes into construction, helping them gain valuable insight into the opportunities available. Recently, we had the privilege of delivering a session on "Discover Your Skills & Strengths" at an incredible event hosted by Pathway CTM at King's College School, Wimbledon, close to our Garratt Lane development. The session was attended by 25 enthusiastic young people, all eager to explore their strengths and how they can apply them to future career opportunities. The interactive discussions, personal reflection exercises, and seeing students grow in confidence throughout the day made this experience truly rewarding. Sessions like these help young people build confidence in their skills and prepare for the world beyond school - whether that’s university, apprenticeships, or employment. Recently, we volunteered with Hammersmith Community Gardens Association HCGA, an environmental charity close to our Hartopp and Lannoy Point development. HCGA manages four community gardens and promotes sustainability across the borough. At Phoenix Farm in White City, our team helped move wood chips, rubble, and dirt, as well as carry out general maintenance to expand the pond area—enhancing local biodiversity. Established in 2007, the farm serves as a valuable learning resource for local schools, community groups, and volunteers.
