Our JBA colleagues, Angus Pettit and David Basset, are attending the Annual Sniffer Conference this week, joining delegates and guest speakers from across the #Flood and #Resilience community. Taking place at Edinburgh's Dynamic Earth over two days, this year's theme, "Taking Actions to Implement the Flood Resilience Strategy," focuses on building upon Scotland's first National Flood Resilience Strategy, published by the Scottish Government in December 2024. To achieve the strategy’s vision, a higher level of cross-sector collaboration is essential, and the conference is a key driver in encouraging this approach. In 2019, the UK became the first major economy to commit to achieving #NetZero emissions by 2050. The following year, the NHS set out its intent to support this commitment through the ‘Delivering a ‘Net Zero’ National Health Service’ report. Every NHS organisation is now required to publish a Carbon Reduction Plan, prioritising the reduction of emissions in built environments. Kildare, was found to contain two historic river meander features, which may lead to potential flooding.
