Supporting other business areas is part of what we do in the @one Alliance! We're currently assisting Anglian Water's Strategic Pipeline Alliance to help deliver enabling works on its section of pipeline between Bury and East Suffolk. We've recently had archaeological digs taking place, in preparation for the installation of the 36km pipeline. The new pipeline consists of 26km of 630mm pipe & 10km of 450mm pipe, which during installation will include at least 3 horizontal directional drillings. Currently the majority of the working area is topsoil stripped and we're now underway in laying the pipe which will help carry water across the Anglian Water Services region to areas that need it most! #oneAlliance #LRT #StrategicPipelineAlliance #AnglianWater

Our supplier Freeflow Pipesystems gave our Young Professional Community an exciting overview of their business! Freeflow Pipes are built upon investing into the future generation, upskilling apprentices and having dedicated training area's & days. The community were fortunate enough to see the manufacturing process in action, providing a real insight into their operations. From steel sheets being placed into shape, to welding and the dipping process with coating the pipes. On Tuesday Anglian Water's Water Recycling and Anglian Water @one Alliance Leadership Teams came together for a collaborative session to better understand how we will be successful together in AMP8. A byproduct of Water Recycling Treatment is the production of raw sludge! On our site at Southend, we're investing nearly £6 million into our dewatering & sludge handling processes. To do this, we're busy installing a new 250m³ cake export silo equipped with duty standby centrifuges. Whilst additionally constructing two new strain presses & a new 1000m³ sludge tank to accommodate the processing. By investing in our infrastructure, we're ensuring Anglian Water Services are able to responsibly manage the sludge production of the WRC & prevent the risk any future environmental contamination! #oneAlliance #Southend #Dewatering #AnglianWater

Take a look at these impressive shots by EPS Group, showcasing the installation of the new scraper bridges at West Walton. As part of our ongoing commitment to improving our Water Recycling Centre's, we're investing over £7 million across a number of different schemes at this site. The current project involves refurbishing existing assets and converting them to provide 2 new PST's and 1 new FST, with associated distribution chambers and sludge handling plant including new strain presses and sludge storage tanks. By improving our current infrastructure with modern scraper bridges and the other associated equipment, Anglian Water Services are ensuring our facilities are well equipped to handle the increasing future demands for the area! #oneAlliance #WestWalton #Wisbech #EPS

The first nine days in my new role at Anglian Water Services have been pretty full-on, so it came as a welcome change on day ten to get out on site with Ian Hutchinson and some of his team from the Anglian Water @one Alliance. The alliance will have its biggest year in 2024/25, delivering nearly £400m of investment across dozens of projects across our network to increase the capacity and resilience of our service to customers. We visited the water recycling facility at Broadholme, where £30m is being invested to expand water recycling capability to serve the nearby towns of Rushden and Wellingborough. Much of the construction activity looks pretty familiar, but I was struck by the complexity of the process elements of the work, which will be an interesting and new area for me to learn! #waterrecycling #waterinfrastructure #capitalprojects

At Whaddon, we've recently installed our Lintott Control Systems Dosing Unit to add to our sites new 215m³ storm tank! This £4.3 million project is only 1 of 170 phosphorus removal schemes that we've invested in as part of our AMP7 period of works between 2020-25! Over the AMP7 period, we've committed over £423 million to reducing phosphorus in our region with excessive levels of phosphorus leading to harmful effects to our local environment & our water quality. Once again we reach the end of another Training School 🎉 The first co-hort of our new Project Delivery Training School have been hard at work over the last 12-weeks learning everything from Project Planning to Commercial Awareness and Advanced CAD Applications. Team 4 have also spent 5 of their 12 week programme working with teams across the Alliance to understand how their roles impact other areas of the business. Our 16 candidates were provided with their certificates from our Managing Director Ian Hutchinson & Anglian Water Services CEO Peter Simpson.
