"Pascall+Watson Architects are delighted to be the architects responsible for London Stansted Airport’s transformative £600M terminal extension. The extension retains the same modular structure and external appearance of the original iconic design, providing an additional 16,500 sqm to equip it for 21st-century passenger requirements. The environmental impact of the development will be minimised by retaining as much of the original building structure as possible, allowing up to 43 million passengers a year to be accommodated within an unusually compact single terminal form. The new Stansted will be a key addition to London’s airport system, providing additional aviation capacity to the North of the Capital and building on the economic potential of the Oxford-Cambridge Arc. The development is projected to add an additional £1 billion per annum to the UK economy." - Matthew Butters, Aviation Director at P+W Architects + Chair of the British Aviation Group See the UK Government's article here: https://lnkd.in/ejhnmF2a #airportexpansion #stansteadairport #architecture #aviation Mott MacDonald MAG (Airports Group)

💭 Did you know that Black women in the UK are twice as likely to face discrimination in recruitment and less likely to hold senior positions? (PwC, 2023) Yesterday, we had the privilege of hosting Marsha Powell (MCIPD) and Chyloe Powell from BelEve at our London Head Office. As part of this year’s Black History Month theme, Reclaiming Narratives, Marsha and Chyloe led a powerful session on reclaiming personal stories, fostering allyship, and the critical role mentorship plays for young women. Together, we explored: ▪️ The importance of reclaiming one’s narrative ▪️ The role of allies in supporting diverse voices ▪️ How mentorship can empower and uplift young women Chyloe Powell, CFO and Co-Founder of BelEve, shared a resonant message on allyship: “Allyship means creating environments where we feel empowered to be our true selves, where our voices and contributions are valued. Our peers and allies play a role by listening, amplifying, and advocating for inclusion and equity.” Thank you to Marsha and Chyloe for your valuable insights and for reminding us of the importance of inclusion and equity in today’s workplace. #BlackHistoryMonth #ReclaimingNarratives #Allyship #Mentorship
