A fantastic British Council for Offices tour of The Optic, Peterhouse Technology Park was held this week with Ed Hayden a key part of the presentation and tour. As British Land’s first venture into Cambridge, The Optic is flexibly designed to meet future occupier needs whilst meeting British Land’s carbon and sustainability targets. Aztec West and 1000 Discovery Drive are both Finalists for the British Council for Offices Awards. Aztec West – an extensively refurbished headquarters office building on the outer edge of Bristol – is a finalist in the Refurbished/Recycled Workplace category in the South, and 1000 Discovery Drive - a flexible laboratory and office building at Cambridge Biomedical Campus – is a finalist in the Commercial Workplace category in the Midlands region. A new state of the art building at London Design and Engineering UTC has been approved for planning. The new three storey T-Levels Building will sit adjacent to the original LDE UTC building in the London Docklands, also designed by Scott Brownrigg, providing additional workshops and teaching spaces to allow the college to increase the learning environment for its students.
