🌍 Small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) play an integral role in our economies and communities, and in global efforts to tackle climate change. While the individual impact a small company has on #climatechange may feel small itself, with some 358 million SMEs globally, there is power in numbers.
But these businesses don’t have to go it alone. To help them navigate their decarbonization journey and move from climate ambition to action, the SME Climate Hub, an initiative of the We Mean Business Coalition, has just released its new Action Space. With this exciting new launch, made possible thanks to collaboration from leading businesses and partners including Environmental Defense Fund and WBCSD – World Business Council for Sustainable Development, the SME Climate Hub continues to grow its comprehensive open platform for small business climate action.
The Action Space outlines how #SMEs across sectors and regions can move towards net zero. It’s broken down into simple steps, with some steps requiring minimal or no investment costs.
Highlights include:
✅ Downloadable Action Guides that identify steps for emissions reduction across both owned operations - such as buildings, IT services, travel and energy - and supply chains
✅ Educational courses to maximize climate action impact across a small business, from strategy to sustainable product design
✅ Tools for emissions measurement, reporting and employee engagement
