Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council has unanimously approved our plans for a new primary school for Glyn-coch! As part of the Welsh Government’s Sustainable Schools Challenge, the new facility is envisioned as a catalyst for community wellbeing, designed to enhance quality of life beyond the school walls. As well as being designed to Passivhaus standards, the school aims to achieve NZC in operation and to meet Welsh Government's challenging 2030 target for embodied carbon .The goal is to deliver Wales’ first WELL v2 accredited school. The landscape design will connect the school to nature with new planting to extend the surrounding woodland and features like outdoor teaching zones, woodland play areas, and a community garden. “This exciting milestone brings us a step closer to delivering a much-needed facility, which we hope will demonstrate sustainability in action, inspire local children to achieve their potential, and support the community for years to come.” – James Page, Senior Associate. Our sweet revival of Devonport House has won The Gingerbread City’s People's Choice award! 🎉 The theme for 2024 was ‘Recycled City’— the perfect canvas for a culinary creation of our current project for the University of Greenwich which will see a Grade II listed former naval hospital nurses home transformed into a state-of-the-art teaching and learning space. “We’ve taken part in Gingerbread City for 6 years, it’s such a great way to get families talking about architecture. We loved the ‘Recycled’ theme which allowed us to highlight our real-life retrofit of a heritage building. We hope our work helps to inspire a younger generation and give people ‘food for thought’ about future cities and our relationship with the built environment. ” – Rachel Bremner Congratulations to our team in London and thank you to everyone who voted for Devonport House's Sweet Revival!
