We’re less than 25 days away from #ClimateWeekNYC and we’re turning our attention to energy this week. ⭕ Energy accounts for more than 2/3 of total greenhouse gas emissions around the world. ⭕ Over the last 20 years, #renewableelectricity has grown from 19% of global electricity demand to more than 30% ⭕ We need to do more to meet the COP28 pledge of tripling global #renewable capacity to reach 11,000 gigawatts - that’s enough to power 1,000 cities the size of New York. It’s Time to remove the barriers that are stopping businesses and countries benefiting from the lower costs of using renewable electricity The era of cheap #fossilfuels is well and truly over. The green energy transition promises to be the biggest gold rush of the 21st Century, and world leaders, financiers and businesses need to seize the economic opportunities presented by #renewableenergy. Check out our Climate Week NYC website to see what energy events are on this year and how you can get involved: https://ow.ly/Lbu350SZXLk This year we’re delighted to have Constellation supporting us as our Energy Program Partner
