Last week, we brought together team members both new and long-standing, to set out our vision for how we’ll work together to make a real difference in our communities. The energy and enthusiasm in the room were amazing, and this is just the beginning. Next week, we’re taking that energy out into the community as we put our new strength based approach into action. Our hope is for our communities to be inclusive and open to everyone, including sanctuary seekers and refugees fleeing conflict and danger in their own countries. We are deeply troubled by the rise of hate and misinformation online that fuels intolerance. The recent social media attacks on the Welsh Refugee Council are deeply upsetting. The WRC provides essential support and advocacy for some of the most vulnerable people in our society. The negativity directed at them is not only unfair but also completely baseless. We encourage everyone to seek out the facts, challenge false information, and recognise the valuable work of organisations like WRC, which reflect Wales' spirit of compassion and humanity.
