We were thrilled to have Franky Farmer highlight some of our case studies that champion inclusivity in advertising at the Unstereotype Alliance's Summer Party last week, where the 3B Playbook was launched. This event underscored how media can be a force for good and inclusivity. Franky showcased some of UM's best inclusive media case studies, spotlighting our impactful work with Nicorette, MoneySuperMarket, and Premier Inn. Through our partnership with GAY TIMES, Nicorette created educational resources to support the LGBTQ+ community in quitting smoking. While our media buying for Premier Inn resulted in its inclusive ad being featured in the first-ever LGBTQ+ ad reel for the film 'Bros.' A huge thanks to the Unstereotype Alliance, of which we are proud members, for giving us the platform to share our work and hear from inspiring individuals dedicated to making a difference. We are incredibly proud of Franky, our team for championing this work every day, our brilliant partners, and our clients who truly care about making advertising an inclusive space.

They provide free family support services to support family’s in helping with the difficult conversations with children about their parents incurable cancer diagnosis. We had an incredible #UMImpactDay yesterday at UM London! Our annual day of service began with a meeting where we discussed its purpose and heard from our charity partners. Afterwards, our teams participated in a range of volunteer activities: gardening with HandsOn London, hosting a bake sale to support UN Women UK, raising funds and completing a half marathon walk for the Ruth Strauss Foundation, assembling and delivering essential kits to the Whitechapel Mission and providing lunch and entertainment, including bingo, for the elderly members of FCV Dorcas - Finsbury & Clerkenwell Volunteers. In the afternoon, some UM’ers took the time to build bee hotels, recognising the importance of bees in our ecosystem. Here's to another fantastic Impact Day at UM! It must be c.15 years ago I attended the Advertising Association’s Media Business Course as a syndicate leader. It was a fantastic course, that I’ve been a strong advocate of ever since. Yesterday, on its 60th anniversary, it was an absolutely pleasure to convene the first day with Kat Bozicevich and hear from the amazing Rory Sutherland, 💥 Amy Kean 💥 and Hamid Habib, alongside 2 of last years winners! The latest IPA (Institute of Practitioners in Advertising) TouchPoints data reveals a consumer marketplace that is fraught with financial pressures, with 4 in 10 Brits struggling to cope financially. Our Group Insight Director, Kim Lambert, shared her assessment with The Media Leader UK, citing stats from our recent Money Talks research, powered up in partnership with Campaign Against Living Miserably and Moneysupermarket Group: “We know from our research that brands need to do more: only 12% of the UK agreed that brands are doing enough to ease consumers’ concerns over the cost-of-living crisis. This is a time for brands to help consumers by showing them how their product or service adds value to their lives and by communicating how they’re helping to make a difference. If done right, it’s not seen as being exploitative but rather as being sensitive to the times people are living through.”
