  • New coworking space in Bristol - Collaboration and positive culture. BLOCK Bristol completed recently, delivering coworking space of the highest quality in the heart of Bristol. Ward Williams were first introduced to the Block team during works on a similar scheme at the award-winning Royal William Yard in Plymouth. The Bristol project is remarkable because of the quality of the end product (see photos) and the delivery which was on time AND budget. This achievement wasn’t a fluke. The client and contractor applied a totally collaborative approach for the entirety of the scheme. Too often projects can be diverted by protectionism and opportunism, here is further proof that a collaborative and positive culture, exponentially increases the likelihood of success in whatever it is you’re trying to achieve. Ward Williams provided both Project Management and Cost Consultant services, working with the brilliant teams at BLOCK and Interaction Ltd | B Corp™. 😊

  • 🎉 Celebrating 50 Years of Ward Williams 🎉 This year marks a momentous milestone for us – our 50th anniversary! To commemorate this incredible journey, teams from across our seven UK offices gathered for a very special celebration at the iconic Eden Project. The evening began with Senior Partner James Beckly delivering an inspiring opening speech. He took us on a journey back to 1974, when Ward Williams was founded with just two small offices in the South West of England. James highlighted the entrepreneurial spirit and culture of innovation that have shaped our success, enabling us to contribute to iconic projects like the Lord’s Media Centre and The Eden Project itself. He also expressed heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated teams and founding partners, sharing memorable anecdotes from the past five decades. The celebration continued as Chairman Andy Snapes welcomed founding partners Paul Williams and Roland Tiplady to the stage. Together, they reflected on the challenges and triumphs that have defined our history. From overcoming recessions to achieving breakthrough moments, their stories offered a candid and heartfelt look at the determination and resilience behind Ward Williams' growth. Roland spoke with pride about the dedication required in the early days, including 15-hour workdays and around-the-clock shifts to meet client needs. Paul shared a standout moment from the 1990s, when he was invited by Buro Happold and Sir Norman Foster to collaborate on the iconic Al Faisaliah Tower, then the tallest building in the Middle East. The founders’ reflections truly embodied our core values of Authenticity, Imagination, and Impact, as they celebrated the relationships, challenges, and opportunities that have brought us to where we are today. A heartfelt thank you to Tanya, Emily, and our Eden Project hosts for creating an unforgettable evening. Here's to the next 50 years of growth, innovation, and making an impact! #50YearsOfWardWilliams #AnniversaryCelebration #AuthenticityImaginationImpact

Thank you Cirencester College for hosting the open evening of the Avebury Building yesterday evening, the event was also a celebration of all the projects we have worked on over the last few years. Located along the new main frontage of the campus, the Avebury Building provides a Wellbeing Hub facility and includes specialist support rooms, quiet rooms, social areas and specific pastoral support rooms for students. This is a fantastic facility for the students at staff at the College, and adds to Smith Consult's portfolio of work with the College. It was also lovely to see some of the other projects we have worked on shown in the photos below, including the Digital Building, T-Levels Building, Kitchen and Refectory, C Block and now the Avebury Building. Congratulations to all the team, it's been a real pleasure to have been involved in these projects.
