The Chicago Bulls are BACK and we’re excited to partner with them to celebrate our patients throughout the season with our VIP fan tunnel experience! Fifteen-year-old Maleia was diagnosed with b-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia in October 2023. The Advocate Children's Hospital patient joined us as our special guest at the Bulls Home Opener for a unique pre-game experience. Maleia and her family got to sit courtside during shootaround and participated in the “Fan Tunnel” experience where they were able to high-five the players on their way out to the court. They even got hugs from Benny The Bull! ❤️

Ken Krull suffered from a stroke on his 70th birthday. He was then rushed to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital where physicians confirmed he was suffering an ischemic stroke and administered a clot-busting drug that slightly improved symptoms. But Ken needed a procedure to remove the blockage – and time was of the essence. He then underwent a mechanical thrombectomy, performed by Dr. Oliver, who pulled an inch-long blood clot from his brain. Immediately after the minimally invasive procedure, Ken’s speech returned to normal and he regained strength and mobility - and was even able to play the guitar he loved so much. His wife’s fast action to get him to the hospital is what could have saved his life! Today, Ken is almost fully recovered and has returned to playing music. He even reunited with his neurointerventionalist, Dr. Marion Oliver – also an avid guitar player – to play guitar together and talk through the procedure that saved his life. “Not only am I incredibly grateful for the Advocate stroke team, but I’m also a poster child for the importance of rapid response,” Ken says. “If you think you’re having a stroke, don’t hesitate for a second. Call 9-1-1 and get help immediately.” Learn more about our Comprehensive Stroke Centers: https://bit.ly/3zfqo3F

The countdown is over...basketball is officially BACK! The Chicago Bulls are helping us honor and thank health care workers by inviting a group Advocate Health Care teammates to select home games throughout the season for a VIP experience at the United Center. Josh Giddey will be “Gidden' to know our heroes” before each game while they sit courtside for warmups and enjoy a special meet & greet with the player. Tonight’s first group experience was made even more special as our teammates got to cheer on the team for their home opener! #SeeRed
