Thrive Global and OpenAI have announced the launch of Thrive AI Health, a new company using artificial intelligence to provide expert-level health coaching to improve health outcomes and address health inequities. The Alice L. Walton Foundation is a strategic investor and Alice L. Walton School of Medicine is a launch partner alongside Stanford University School of Medicine and the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute. About us
Founded in 2021 by philanthropist Alice Walton, the School of Medicine, will offer a four-year, medical degree-granting program that integrates conventional medicine with holistic principles and self-care practices. Taught by leading medical practitioners and scientific minds, the first-of-its-kind medical school will help students rise to the health challenges of the 21st century with a focus on mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health and will include an attached clinic for clinical training in these concepts. The School of Medicine seeks to be a national medical school with the goal of welcoming its inaugural class in 2025, pending programmatic and institutional accreditation.

We are excited to announce that we will be working with another cohort of talented young leaders this year, in collaboration with Heartland Whole Health Institute.
Heartland Whole Health Institute and Alice L. Walton School of Medicine are pleased to welcome five Morehead-Cain scholars to our teams for the summer. As part of the Morehead-Cain’s Summer Enrichment Program, the scholars will work with the Institute and the School of Medicine to explore neuroaesthetics and healthy nutrition during their eight weeks on site. Walton School of Medicine had a great weekend at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and The Momentary’s inaugural Wellness Festival, a celebration of the profound connections between the arts and well-being. Founding Dean and CEO Sharmila Makhija MD MBA gave opening remarks for the Festival before a talk led by Assistant Dean of Whole Health Integration Angela Pierce, DC, PhD and Susan Magsamen, co-author of Your Brain on Art. Dr. Pierce also led visitors through a health-focused tour of the Crystal Bridges galleries. Pending accreditation, Alice L. Walton School of Medicine will be a four-year MD program that will enhance traditional medical education with the arts and humanities. The School will eventually share a campus with Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and the two organizations are exploring the intersection of art and well-being. Guided by Crystal Bridges educators, AWSOM faculty recently explored the galleries and participated in Visual Thinking Strategies exercises to learn how art can be used to teach critical skills such as observation, communication, and empathy.
