Brach Myers for the hard work and dedication to HB896 which was signed into law on June 25! This law creates the Louisiana Remote Patient Monitoring Program Law, building the framework and showing legislative intent for the adoption and utilization of technology as a high quality and efficient mode of caring for our growing access challenges and provider workforce shortages. Last Saturday CAGLA hosted their Conference Speaker Appreciation Dinner at Ralph's on the Park. We had ~114 dinner attendees which included Physicians from every major hospital system in Louisiana, state legislators who supported CAGLA bills this session, reps from multiple pharma companies who sponsored our CAGLA Conference, and members of our Scientific Advisory Board. It was great night where everyone was united in the fight against cancer. #CAGLASTRONG

Chad Landry, alongside Dr. Zoe Larned and Katie Slaughter from Ochsner, have championed the Remote Patient Home Monitoring Bill (HB 896) in Baton Rouge. Authored by Rep Myers, this bill proposes the Louisiana Remote Patient Monitoring Program Law. Dr. Larned and Katie Slaughter outlined the potential health benefits and cost savings for patients in the program. The bill has successfully passed the committee stage and is now due for a full chamber vote on the Senate floor. #CAGLASTRONG

Today - Dr Matt Mutter (LSU Urologist) and I spent the morning in Baton Rouge at State Capitol advocating for the passage of HB 508 (authored by Rep Bagley) out of Senate Finance Committee. Happy to say this CAGLA bill was voted favorably out of committee and will now go to Senate Floor for final vote. #CaglaStrong

28 years ago, a remarkable day unfolded - my Hodgkin's Lymphoma went into remission. This life-altering event at 20 years old, though terrifying at the time, reshaped my life's priorities and relationships. I remember it every May 8th, cherishing my good health as a precious gift.
