We are so grateful for the amazing group of young volunteers from the Salesian Gospel Roads NOLA youth group who dedicated their time and energy to support both of our PACE programs at Catholic Charities. Their hard work playing games, visiting with participants, and gardening during their week long service retreat was truly inspiring. Thank you for your kindness and generosity! #volunteering #community 🙏🌟

Join us in making a real difference in the lives of children and families in the New Orleans area! Deacon Martin Gutierrez discussed our Head Start Program on WVUE-TV Fox 8 Live this week. With a waiting list for students, we need more teachers to provide a "Head Start" in life. Early education is crucial for children's development - that's why our program focuses on social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth. https://ow.ly/Vso050SJe1L

Two weeks at PACE flew by with moments of reflection on Catholic Social Teaching, meaningful work, inspirational engagement, and …. mini golf! ⛳🏌️ 2024’s summer SERVE (Students Engaging in Reflective Volunteer Experiences) may go down as one of the most memorable as our high school volunteers teamed up with senior clients this year for an outing at City Putt Miniature Golf Course. Thanks to the staff at PACE for their help making this a special summer SERVE for the seniors and students. Shout out to the students from Brother Martin High School, Archbishop Rummel High School, Academy of Our Lady High School, St. Mary’s Dominican High School, and Archbishop Shaw High School. You truly represent the face of Jesus in our community.

We recently held a beautiful baby shower at our Incarnate Word Head Start location, celebrating several new and expectant mothers! The event included presentations, games, and gifts, and was a true celebration of life. Expectant moms can also enroll in our Head Start program to begin receiving services and information related to early childhood development. Once the baby is born, they are automatically enrolled in the program as well!

Last week, we celebrated our incredible staff at Catholic Charities with a magnificent Centennial Staff Appreciation Day! It was very moving to see hundreds of dedicated individuals from nearly two dozen programs come together to be recognized for their hard work and commitment to serving others. Thank you for all that you do! The thought of what we can achieve over the next 100 years is truly inspiring. We would also like to recognize the Hispanic Apostolate for helping make this day so memorable. #CentennialCelebration

Happy Independence Day to you and your family. We hope it's a relaxing one filled with food, fun, fireworks and hopefully a dip in your (or a neighbor’s) pool for some relief from the heat. Our team is off on the 4th, but we'll be back on Friday. https://ow.ly/VaJi50Su7v7
