Are you passionate about creating a sustainable textile industry? 👕♻️ Learn how Burgessy Rise collaborated with Centre of Expertise in Advanced Materials and Sustainability (CEAMS) to develop an innovative, eco-friendly adhesive that could help to reduce #textile waste in the garment industry. 👕 The textile industry struggles with excess waste, as garments must be produced in multiple sizes, but demand is not always met. Burgessy Rise identified that a robust, reversible adhesive could eliminate this need, allowing garments to be easily resized, reducing landfill waste. 👕 In collaboration with CEAMS partners the Henry Royce Institute (Royce) and The University of Manchester, an environmentally friendly, water-based adhesive was developed as an alternative to traditional solvent-based adhesives, which pose significant environmental and health risks. 👕 The innovation features a physically switchable adhesive coating that facilitates the temporary fixing of garments for modification by wearers, providing strong but reversible adhesion with minimal fabric residue. 📄 Read more and connect with us to explore how we can support your #sustainable innovation: https://lnkd.in/eE7_Udpd CPI Henry Royce Institute The University of Manchester MTC - Manufacturing Technology Centre National Composites Centre High Value Manufacturing Catapult National Physical Laboratory (NPL) Rochdale Development Agency #SustainableFashion #MaterialsInnovation #CircularEconomy #GarmentRecycling #AdvancedMaterials #NetZero #CEAMS #TextileSustainability #CircularFashion

CEAMS has so many incredible partners, CPI is one of them. This project isn’t a CEAMS project but it has been shared to show just how innovative and ground breaking the work of our partners truly is.
This video will brighten up your Blue Monday 👶🍼⬇️ BoobyBiome’s groundbreaking work ensures that all babies, whether breastfed or formula-fed, can benefit from essential nutrients and good bacteria, giving them the best start in life, no matter the circumstances. Breastfeeding is known for its incredible benefits, including providing essential bacteria that support a baby’s gut microbiome. But not every baby has access to these essential good bacteria from breast milk. That’s where BoobyBiome comes in. They’re developing a supplement containing live bacteria isolated from breast milk, which can be added to formula or breast milk to ensure all babies can access these vital nutrients. With CPI’s help, BoobyBiome has: 🦠 Optimised and scaled their bacterial fermentation process. 🧫 Conducted a feasibility study on co-culturing multiple species of bacteria at scale. 👩🔬 Gained access to state-of-the-art-equipment, including high throughput bioreactor systems for process development. Together, we’re giving infants the best possible start in life, one microbiome at a time.
