Meet Jason Townsend - Superintendent and this month's Hard Hat Hang Up.   In high school, Jason spent his summers framing houses and building decks. A few years after graduation, he got the opportunity to run jobs and has been doing so ever since.   As a Superintendent, Jason says, "I really enjoy problem-solving, and no matter how much I’ve seen or done, I’ve never lost interest in how things are built." He adds, "There is always more than one way to do something, and I enjoy finding the best way for each situation."   When asked about his favorite aspect of working at Chesapeake, he highlights the supportive structure, noting that everyone wants each other to succeed.   Outside of work, Jason enjoys fishing, kayaking, and camping with his wife and two sons. Chesapeake recently finished Heritage Hyundai located in Towson, Maryland!   The project encompassed alterations and interior renovation of the 17,960 SF sales center of the automotive center. Renovation included new finishes such as ceiling, lighting, and furniture, as well as alterations to the storefront and new ramp and stairs.   Our team excels in coordinating dealer operations and logistics. Earlier this week, Chesapeake hosted a crab feast at Cantler’s to welcome our summer interns and provide them with an opportunity to spend time with fellow associates.   This gathering gave our interns the chance to get to know our team members outside of the typical work environment, fostering a sense of community and connection. Chesapeake has broken ground on Ritchie Self Storage in Pasadena, MD.   Designed by Penney Design Group, LLC, this project will consist of two separate buildings: a 1-story facility spanning 23,500 SF with leasable space and a 2-story, 65,500 SF storage building with office space. In total, there will be 677 units, all accessible from ground level.   Currently, we are completing the perimeter strip footing for Building 2 and are halfway through the 10' foundation wall. In the coming weeks, we will be backfilling the 10' foundation wall and conducting curb and paving work around both buildings.   At Chesapeake, we specialize in self-storage buildings that utilize your entire footprint, enhance the customer experience, and address security, climate control, and accessibility concerns.
