Community Reach Center's mission is to enhance the health of our community.

About us

In 1957, Community Reach Center started in Commerce City, Colorado. It began with a small team of mental health experts from the University of Colorado Medical Center. Ten years later, a big change happened. The government passed the Community Mental Health Act to improve mental health care. This was part of President Kennedy’s plan for better mental health treatment. Our center was the first in our region to get support from this new law. We created a safe place for mental health care that people from other states came to see. Now, 65 years later, we help around 13,000 people every year. We provide care in different locations like clinics, schools, and homes to support our community.

Yesterday, our leadership team stopped by our Westminster Outpatient location to serve up some delicious BBQ and show appreciation to our staff! 🌭 Our Westminster team just moved into their new building, and this was the perfect opportunity to welcome them into their new space where they will be serving our Westminster community. 😌 Shoutout to all the CRC staff who helped get this new building ready for our consumers. 🎉 We had a lot of fun and can’t wait for our next stop, Broomfield Pediatrics!

Clinical Team of the Year! 🥳 The incredibly hardworking Community Reach Center Westminster Outpatient team won Clinical Team of the Year and I couldn’t be more excited. This is my first year as a manager, a role I always thought was too hard for me to ever do. And now that I’m doing it- it’s been a blast! (And it’s actually much harder than I thought it would be 😂). Every day is like trying to solve a never-ending puzzle. How do we meet the needs of those who need it most? How do we motivate our teams to give their all and also help promote self-care and foster retention? How can we provide the most excellent services possible? The more complex the question, the more I’m drawn to the puzzle. I’m very proud of the awesome people on my team who help problem-solve needs on the daily. Also I’m thrilled to have won my second employee-voted award! This year I won the Jack of All Trades award for taking on diverse responsibilities with skill and enthusiasm, and willingness to contribute to the organization’s success. It’s a very meaningful recognition to receive. 🥲 And finally, I was awarded a scholarship to complete coursework towards a Conflict Resolution graduate certificate at the Colorado State University School of Social Work 🥳 I’m very thankful to the Community Reach Center board for their financial support for the scholarship, and for recognizing our team this year. 👏 #LatinasinSocialWork #LatinasinLeadership

Yesterday, we celebrated our amazing staff at CRC's Annual All-Staff Event for the important work they do in our community. 🎉 Our staff treated themselves to well-deserved self-care activities like soothing sound-bowl therapy, creative expression at our art hub, chair massages, therapeutic candle pouring, and loving on some adorable (and adoptable!) furry friends! 🐶🐱 Events like these remind us that just as we advocate for the health and well-being of others in our community, we must prioritize our own health and happiness too. Thank you to everyone who made this event a success! 💙 Candle Pouring: Burn Candle Bar Art Therapy: Heather Grady Massage Therapy: Body Techniques Sound Bowl Healing: Intune Puppy and Kitty Therapy: Maxfund Animal Shelter

It's back-to-school season and we're kicking off the upcoming school year at 27J’s back-to-school event. We had so much fun connecting with parents and students about our on-site therapy program aimed at building resiliency and improving mental health for students. We're excited to continue our partnership with 27J, share helpful resources, and look forward to an amazing school year ahead! ✏️📚🧸

Meet our AWARE Center member, Tammy! 👋 Tammy visits the AWARE Center to catch up with friends, attend peer-led group activities, and go on group outings. One of her favorite things to do at the AWARE Center is both giving and receiving support from fellow members. 🫶 When asked about advice she’d give her former self, she shared, “Get out there and get excited about things. When you get excited, you’re on fire and good things happen!” 🔥 We couldn’t agree more!

Meet Matthew! 👋 Matthew started his journey with Community Reach Center as a mandatory step in his mental health recovery. Since recovery, he has continued to come to the AWARE Center because he enjoys that much. 🎊 Matthew is an AWARE Center regular who loves to socialize, hit up our group outings, and attend his favorite group, Music for Wellness. 🎶 During our check-in, he emphasized his appreciation for CRC staff who help connect members with the services they need to regain stability and thrive. In the words of Matthew, he shared, “If I could give a shout out to people... Just give it a try. You will like it.” 😃 We’re glad to hear you are enjoying yourself and happy to have you as part of the AWARE Center community! #SocialWellnessMonth
