A global UNICEF partnership to skill and connect young people to opportunities in education, employment, social impact.

About us

If the largest generation of young people in history is prepared for the transition to work, the potential for global progress is unlimited! Generation Unlimited is a global multi-sector partnership convened by the UN Secretary-General at the 73rd United Nations General Assembly in September 2018. Hosted by UNICEF, Generation Unlimited (GenU) works to ensure that the world’s 1.8 billion youth are connected to the internet, have access to world-class digital learning and skilling solutions and are economically empowered with employment and entrepreneurial opportunities. Generation Unlimited creates public-private partnerships – globally and in countries – to co-create and support investment opportunities, programmes and innovations at a large scale, and to help young people become productive in life. Our focus is on three strategic priorities: 1. Scale up online/remote learning, skilling, and livelihood platforms 2. Boost entrepreneurial skills and opportunities 3. Engage youth as changemakers

🌿📂 Engaging and empowering a generation of agripreneurs Generation Unlimited and SNV are partnering to skill and connect young people in Kenya, particularly girls and young women who are out of school, unemployed and underemployed, with employment and entrepreneurship opportunities in agriculture.   Through the Engaging Kenyan Youth in Agriculture and Nutrition (EKYAN) programme funded by the Government of Netherlands and a private sector company, this partnership will build skills and facilitate access to finance and market opportunities in agripreneurship for 3,200 young people, particularly women and young mothers, across Kirinyaga, Kisumu, Busia and Samburu counties, enabling them to start a business or transition into the job market.  Announced at the 2024 #GYEOSummit in Washington DC by Iliana Albino, Generation Unlimited Deputy Director of Partnerships, and Jean Muthamia-Mwenda, Global Lead, Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship at SNV, this initiative aligns with Kenya’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) Policy and the UN Sustainable Development Goals addressing youth unemployment and fostering sustainable economic growth through green training and jobs. The agriculture sector presents substantial employment opportunities for young people, contributing significantly to agricultural growth and food security in Kenya.    #SkillsRightNow #SNVImpactThatMatters #GreenRising #YouthEmpowerment
