Check out new photos of the Giddens School and Lake Washington Girls Middle School (LWGMS) complex, an urban educational campus located between Beacon Hill and the Central District neighborhoods of Seattle designed to host two private, independent schools. Though each school maintains its own identity, the schools’ shared commitment to innovation and connectedness made co-locating an obvious solution. Key design goals for the tightly integrated and program-driven for the 52,500-square-foot project include flexible and innovative spaces, student-centered design, and a building that is open and connected to the community and the natural world. https://lnkd.in/grapygAj Architecture: Graham Baba Architects Collaborating Architect: Anjali Grant Design Contractor: Exxel Pacific Photography: Lara Swimmer

We're excited to share Vitus made Office Snapshots' list of 'The Top 25 Most Popular Offices of 2024' | https://lnkd.in/dTjYxcVq Vitus is an adaptive re-use project located in the Belltown neighborhood of Seattle, WA on 2nd Avenue. The three-story existing heavy timber and masonry structure was revitalized to house a new set of retail and office tenants at the first and second floors. The upper floors were custom built out to for the building owner which includes a new Penthouse structure at the roof level and new roof decks at both the east and west. The cardamom croissant is a laminated, convoluted delight, like a not-too-sweet kouign-amann. The cinnamon-Okinawan sugar toast is a pillowy slab of morning comfort. And no self-respecting breakfast joint omits an egg-and-cheese sandwich. This one comes on either Hawaiian bread or melonpan, a Japanese sweetbread domed with a thin cookie-like crust. At Lakeside Landing, the Graham Baba design team utilized the challenging slope as an opportunity, orienting the most-used spaces on each level towards the water. A bridge from the street spans the one-story drop between the road and the entry.
