I am so proud of the Gender and Economic Inclusion Team at IFC, working with passion, purpose, and professionalism to accelerate gender equality across all our work. We heard World Bank Group President Ajay Banga’s call to action loud and clear during the Annual Meetings when he announced a set of concrete goals to further boost economic opportunities for women. By 2030, we are focusing on: - Enabling 300 million more women to use broadband, unlocking essential services, financial services, education, and job opportunities. - Supporting 250 million women with social protection programs, focusing especially on the poorest and most vulnerable. - Providing 80 million more women and women-led businesses with capital, addressing a critical constraint to entrepreneurship growth. At IFC, we will support this vision as we do our part to implement the World Bank Group Gender Strategy 2024 – 2030 through IFC’s Roadmap 2030 for Gender Equality and Economic Inclusion. With our roadmap, we are collaborating with private sector partners to - Allocate capital to drive inclusion. - Facilitate inclusive supply chains. - Drive inclusive employment and leadership. And across these three areas, we are ensuring digital inclusion for women and marginalized groups, accelerating gender inclusion in climate strategies, and addressing gender-based violence. This is how we will deliver results and impact in the urgent work of accelerating gender equality. It’s our action plan to meet our ambition … as so beautifully illustrated in this animated video. In this age of poly-crises, global challenges intersect and amplify one another. When crises continue to threaten access to goods, services, and economic stability, collaboration with the private sector is vital for resilience - it has become an essential lifeline. During the #WBGMeetings, we held a series of productive meetings with our private sector clients, government representatives and partners from the #MiddleEast, #CentralAsia, #Türkiye and #Pakistan. Continued WBG engagement through the unprecedented crisis in the region, preserving human capital and job creation are priorities for our Governors. It was inspiring to discuss pathways to economic resilience and stability and to reaffirm our shared commitment to sustainable impact. With determination and collaboration, we can continue to drive positive change in the most critical areas—together.
