Meet 5 of the organizations making an impact through the Global Health Innovation Grants Program. ⭐ Since 2016, The Pfizer Foundation’s Global Health Innovation Grants (GHIG) program has supported community-based initiatives that aim to improve quality of care and strengthen health systems in lower income countries. Innovations in Healthcare supports GHIG grantees by facilitating connections, hosting program-specific workshops and peer convenings at the Annual Forum while also conducting regular program monitoring to provide portfolio and individual results to the Pfizer Foundation. Now in its eighth year, 20 new recipients have each received a USD $100,000 one-year grant to drive innovative solutions that help address vaccine-preventable illness in their communities. 💉 Learn more in our latest blog: 🔗 https://duke.is/n/2mvp Living Goods; mothers2mothers; Muso; North Star Alliance; Fundación Pro México Indígena / Pro Mazahua

It was great to be in Nairobi, Kenya recently to learn from our Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation partners about the work they are doing to advance innovation and leverage emerging technology to support solutions for AMR, TB, and more. During my visit, I had the chance to hear how organizations, like Penda Health, are already using the power of AI to support patient care and overcome health worker shortages, and I was able to observe a live demonstration, with thanks to Stephanie Koczela and Robert Korom. We also visited two of the Bill & Melinda Gates Medical Research Institute M72 investigational vaccine clinical trial sites and saw first-hand the enthusiasm around the potential of a new TB vaccine. Leaving inspired and grateful to everyone who welcomed me.

📣 NEW REPORT! "Tracking and Analyzing Medical Countermeasures for Emerging Health Challenges: Mpox" The COVID-19 pandemic exposed significant global inequities in the access to therapeutics, vaccines, testing, and other health innovations that could limit the impact of the disease and save lives. These global inequities are not limited to the COVID-19 pandemic and need to be critically addressed across emerging health challenges, such as the ongoing #mpox outbreak. Through QuickStart, we aim to serve as an external, independent source for tracking and catalyzing effective actions to meet and increase commitments, and to hold the key stakeholders to account for achieving emergency preparedness and response goals. In light of this, we are proud to launch the first edition of our “Tracking and Analyzing Medical Countermeasures for Emerging Health Challenges: Mpox" report.
