🔬 Research alone doesn’t change lives: what we do with it does! Too often, global health findings remain in reports instead of being applied to shape policies and improve health service delivery. This is where #knowledgetranslation (KT) comes in. KT is the process of turning knowledge into action; like adapting policies, informing interventions, or improving health services. Our Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance Zero-Dose Learning Hub (ZDLH) has created a KT toolkit to ensure research findings lead to real-world improvements in #immunization and health systems. The KT toolkit moves implementers through five stages, starting with dissemination and ending with measuring impact. 💡 If you’re a researcher, policymaker, or health program implementer, you can use this toolkit to translate evidence into tangible change. 🚀 Ready to get started? Make Your Voice Heard! The Lancet Commission on Evidence-based Implementation in Global Health is conducting a survey to better understand how implementers in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) use information and to identify gaps between evidence and implementation practices. Your survey input is important! It will help address this evidence gap and inform the second phase of research: https://lnkd.in/euBXY5Fm Survey details: ⏰The survey should take approximately 10 minutes to complete. 📋 Your response will remain anonymous. 👶🏻 The survey is funded by the Children's Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF). Thank you to Chris Elias for these reflections on how locally led solutions are driving real impact in #Ethiopia. There’s power in community-driven primary health care, where government, health workers, and partners like AMREF, JSI, and Gates Foundation work together to expand access. From #immunization efforts to innovative approaches that reach conflict-affected and remote communities, our work is ensuring that health care reaches everyone, everywhere.
What does it take to ensure health for everyone, everywhere? On my trip to Ethiopia, I saw the power of locally led solutions in action. At community health posts, I witnessed the incredible work of health workers, the government, and partners who are expanding access to primary healthcare through the Health Extension Program. This initiative is bringing essential health services, including immunization, to families across the country, ensuring care reaches those who need it most. I also had the opportunity to learn from the AMREF and JSI teams about innovative approaches to reaching communities affected by conflict and geographic barriers—people who face some of the greatest challenges in accessing care. This is how we scale healthcare: by adapting to the needs of every community and ensuring no one is left behind. The progress is inspiring, and it reaffirms that investing in health isn’t just about saving lives—it’s about building a healthier, more equitable future for all.

JSI’s Ethiopia Data Use Partnership (DUP) through Gates Foundation support, is transforming health data reporting using a cost-efficient and scalable model for resource-limited settings. By upgrading outdated computer hardware capacity in health facilities across the Somali region, the initiative boosted data reporting rates from 16% to 70% in just its first day of use. Higher reporting rates enhance data accuracy, strengthen decision-making, and support better health outcomes.
