Say hello to our new interns! 👋 Yesterday, we welcomed our 10K Foundation interns. This is the third year we have taken part in the scheme, with 15 interns joining us this summer through September from both the 10K Black and 10K Able intern schemes. They spent their first day meeting their new teams, learning about the company, and attending sessions on staying connected and creating a professional social media presence. We wish them all the best and look forward to seeing them flourish in their roles.🌟 The 10,000 Interns Foundation #KaplanLife #Interns #10000InternsFoundation #DiversityAndInclusion #NewBeginnings #ProfessionalGrowth #CareerDevelopment #InternLife

A new Manhattan Prep/Kaplan survey of more than 300 aspiring #businessschool students finds that a majority believe they have little to fear when it comes to their #socialmedia posts harming their admissions chances. Among the findings: - Legit Factor: Of those surveyed, 59 percent say that what prospective students post on social media sites is “fair game” for admissions officers to use to help them decide who gets in; but 41 percent disagree and think it’s “an invasion of privacy that shouldn’t be done.” - Low Impact: 66 percent say that if an admissions officer had full access to all of their social media posts right now, it would have no impact on their chances of getting in. - Minimal Scrubbing: So confident are respondents in the content they posted that only 3 percent say they will “definitely” delete social media posts before applying to business school. “The vast majority of today’s business school applicants are millennials and Gen Zers who grew up on social media, regularly using it to tell stories, share, and express themselves, so it’s not too surprising that most are comfortable with admissions officers evaluating them on the content they post. Though it is notable that some respondents told us that they are concerned their political views shared on social media might be held against them,” said Stacey Koprince, director of content and curriculum, Manhattan Prep, which is owned by Kaplan. In the latest issue of Kaplan's Bold Learning newsletter, just out today: Dartmouth. Harvard. Brown. Yale. University of Texas at Austin. University of Georgia. Those are some of the top private and state #collegesanduniversities that have recently announced that they are sunsetting their COVID era test optional admissions policies. While this may not be a sea change (yet), it may represent a turning of the tide. But this begs the question: If the SAT and ACT do make a broad-based comeback, what kinds of applicants will benefit most? And how should schools best evaluate test scores? And how might #AI factor into all of this? Steven Marietti, Kaplan's Chief Commercial Officer, shares his views. Also: Those interviewing for a job know to bring a printed version of your resume, work samples, a pen and notepad, and a healthy dose of self-confidence. But what about mom and dad? Results from a recent ResumeTemplates survey show that many #GenZ job applicants bring along their parents for the experience, which might really be off-putting to prospective employers! In the latest issue of Kaplan's Bold Learning newsletter: Generative AI (GenAI) may be a game-changing tool poised to transform formative assessment, writes James Mansbridge, head of #digitallearning and #artificialintelligence, Kaplan UK. "GenAI can generate detailed, meaningful feedback tailored to each student’s responses. With GenAI, we can write prompts that provide a model question and answer, and specific feedback. GenAI will highlight strengths, pinpoint weaknesses, provide tips for improvements, offer encouragement, and suggest supplemental resources or exercises tailored to the student's specific needs." And: A new Student Voice flash survey by Inside Higher Ed and Generation Lab offers insight into college students' perspectives on the value and affordability of #highereducation in the face of escalating tuition costs and colleges increasingly closing under the financial strain. We're starting June with some great news to share. The City University of New York School of Law is now providing all of its graduating students with free comprehensive Kaplan test prep for the #barexam through an expanded partnership with us, and 2024 CUNY Law graduates will be the first ones to benefit. In addition to comprehensive bar prep for all CUNY Law students, we will also provide the school with enhanced curriculum support to benefit all students throughout their #lawschool journey. "CUNY Law is immensely proud to offer all students bar exam preparation at absolutely no cost to them. The institution bearing this cost is a clear example of our mission in action and something we are proud to offer our students,” said David Baluarte, senior associate dean of academic affairs, City University of New York School of Law. “Kaplan is excited to strengthen this partnership with CUNY School of Law to offer this game-changing academic opportunity for tomorrow’s practicing attorneys. By becoming an All Access partner and investing in comprehensive integrated programming that culminates in free bar exam prep, CUNY is demonstrating that it understands the importance of supporting their diverse student population from orientation through graduation,” said Kimberly Batrice Hytree, executive director of bar institutional programs, Kaplan. As part of Kaplan’s All Access initiative, institutions of higher learning can help their students prepare for a variety of high-stakes admissions and licensing exams that they need to score well on to reach their ultimate professional goals—with zero out-of-pocket costs for students. Welcome to the All Access family, CUNY Law. We're so excited to be working with you! It's a full circle moment, as our company's founder, Stanley Kaplan, was a CUNY graduate (at 18 years old!) who went on to become a member of the faculty at his alma mater, The City College of New York. #highereducation #highered #collegesanduniversities https://lnkd.in/edhCzquy
