We love Hunt Highway! Florence Copper employees spent a morning in June volunteering to clean up Hunt Highway, which Florence Copper adopted as part of the Adopt-a-Town-Road program. Florence Copper is glad to do its part to give back to the Florence community. #volunteer #highwaycleanup #giveback Taseko Mines Limited

Misael Cabrera, PE, Director for the University of Arizona School of Mining & Mineral Resources, teaches his students that mining is not part of the problem, rather the solution to create a more sustainable future. Minerals like manganese and zinc – both of which are found at Hermosa – are recognized by the U.S. Geological Survey as critical minerals, meaning they are essential to the economic and national security of our nation and have supply chains that are vulnerable to disruption. Hermosa has the opportunity to set a new standard for sustainable mining and help strengthen our domestic supply of these critical minerals. Interested in what it looks like to work at a next-generation mine like Hermosa? Check out our feature on Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration Inc. Project Coordinator Naiz Garibay knows that people often assume mining today equates old-school pickaxes, but she’s here to debunk that line of thinking and explain what working at a next-generation mine like Hermosa actually looks like. “There are way more opportunities and jobs to fulfill, not just being a geologist or engineer, but you can work in health and safety, as community specialists, IT – there are thousands of things that go into a project.” Interested in learning more about what it means to be a next-generation mine and the kinds of jobs it offers? Meet Joe White! Our Health & Safety lead, and a veteran. Today we honor and celebrate Joe’s duty to our country and dedication to our team on #HireAVetDay. He is one of three veterans we proudly call our own at NewRange. We honor Joe for his service in the U.S. Army before eventually starting a mining career. He served a tour of duty in Afghanistan and two tours in Iraq, is a Purple Heart recipient, and retired as a staff sergeant after 22 years of service. Joe remembers, “To watch soldiers, that were once considered enemies, stand by your side, fight with you, and protect you, is an experience I won’t forget.”
