I’m proud that we’re supporting the amazing work of Little Village this winter to provide essentials to families with young children and babies. Their research shows that nearly 71% of parents they support are struggling to afford basic winter essentials. Londoners can get involved too. Chief Executive Officer at Little Village & Chair of the Baby Bank Alliance

I am SO excited that IKEA X Baby Bank Alliance is out in the world! Thank you to the The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood Business Taskforce for sparking this amazing collaboration (and for all your other support for baby banks). It is tougher for ever for families with young children. All baby banks are meeting unprecedented demand from parents who just want to do the best for their children. It's wonderful to have partners that help support our work and draw attention to the need that sits behind it. I can't wait to go and look for the new SKOGSDUVA collection and Baby Bank Alliance branding in my local Greenwich IKEA store! Play it forward! 💜

Play it forward – IKEA X Baby Bank Alliance We are delighted to announce that the Baby Bank Alliance is partnering with IKEA and their new SKOGSDUVA collection. This magical 26 piece range of products for children is inspired by the enchanted forests of Sweden. The range will lift children’s imaginations and inspire storytelling. Every child deserve a bit of magic! 🐝 🍂 🦔 🌳 🦉 To play it forward and support all babies and children in the UK, IKEA have partnered with the Baby Bank Alliance. £1 from every sale of the SKOGSDUVA range will be donated to the Baby Bank Alliance. This comes at a time of year we know is especially hard for families: homes to warm, increasing cost of bills and essential items, the pressures of winter festivities looming. For the families of the 4.3 million children living in poverty in the UK, affording everyday items to raise babies and children is a hard struggle. Baby banks are vital lifelines for so many, providing parents with support, and children with the items they need. Here at the Alliance, we support and advocate for the UK’s 300+ baby banks, so that every baby and child in the UK has the essentials they need to thrive. Our partnership with IKEA is a perfect fit: we know many of the preloved donations given by families to baby banks are often from IKEA, and IKEA’s ambitions for sustainable business practices and supporting those in poverty, helps us on our mission. IKEA and the Baby Bank Alliance were brought together through the The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood Business Taskforce. We are so grateful for their support and connection. How you can support baby banks: ➡ Visit one of the 21 IKEA stores or IKEA online to purchase the beautiful SKOGSDUVA range and support more children across the UK. ➡ Share our collaboration on socials, letting your friends, family and colleagues know about the new range supporting UK baby banks. ➡ Support families in your community by finding your local baby bank to donate pre-loved goods or volunteer your time. Visit our map to find the nearest one to you. https://lnkd.in/ejngaueG

Chief Executive Officer at Little Village & Chair of the Baby Bank Alliance

***Opportunity to join Little Village's Board of Trustees* We are really lucky to have a fantastic, dedicated Board, led by Olivia Gillan Bower, and we are recruiting to appoint more trustees this autumn. Since I joined as CEO in 2021, Little Village has changed and grown a LOT. We have a new warehouse, a refreshed brand, partnerships with Maternity Units and incredible community organisations as well as supporting families directly at our hubs in Camden, Tooting and Wembley. And we're co-founders of the new national Baby Bank Alliance! But there continues to be huge demand for support and there's a lot more to do. To support us with that, we are looking for some specific expertise as well as more general experience (but you don’t need any previous board or trustee experience). We’d like to appoint one trustee with experience of raising charity income and engagement as well as one or two other trustees with more general experience, especially a commercial or entrepreneurial background. If that sounds interesting, there's more information and a link to the pack here: https://lnkd.in/eQVPKUaM
