I am incredibly humbled and grateful to have had the opportunity and privilege to serve the Ford Foundation over these past 11 years. I will be departing in 2025, and our Board of Trustees will conduct the search for a new president. I spoke with The New York Times about our efforts to address the societal drivers of #inequality, my belief that the Ford Foundation is in the business of hope, and its future in pursuing a more just and equitable world.

The International AIDS Society’s #AIDS2024 has officially opened. Conference Co-Chairs, Sharon Lewin, Christoph Spinner and Andriy Klepikov welcomed delegates, moderated by German actress and presenter Annabelle Mandeng and UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador for EECA Vira Brezhneva. Welcoming remarks were followed by inspiring speeches and commitments from German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, a Ugandan trans and human rights activist (not pictured) & UNAIDS Executive Director Winnie Byanyima. We then wrapped up Day 1 with a performance of Bavarian traditional folk dance by The Schwuhplattler. Research, advocacy, action. #PutPeopleFirst
