As someone who loves brilliant marketing tactics, I can tell you this one is pure genius. Mikey Robinson really knocked it out of the park. Even in his post, he comes across as a humble part of a larger team that made this happen in just 18 days. You’ve got to check it out. It gives new meaning to the term “spooning.”

    ✖️ 85% of e-commerce brands returning customers and subscribers AREN'T getting those abandonment emails ✖️ On average, brands are only identifying 15% of returning customers or subscribers who come back to their site. 85% are NOT getting those cart abandon emails you think they are. We all know that in email marketing, your highest revenue-driving flow is your cart abandonment flow It’s easy to assume that a large portion of the traffic coming to your site, who have purchased from you before, will get a cart abandonment email if they leave something in their cart. But that isn’t the case. Only about 15% actually receive that email. This is due to: - Cross-device drop-off - Users not being logged in - Google 7-day cookie tracking window So, all the resources you invested in paid or influencer ads to bring them into your funnel or secure a purchase are wasted. This is exactly why utilizing ID resolution is so important. It can help brands increase that 15% to the highest number possible. And yes, ID resolution isn’t a one-tool solution to this problem, but it can still get your brand as close to 100% as possible. While perfect ID resolution is an ideal goal, even increasing to 30-40% is straight 🔥. ID resolution helps identify more returning subscribers who come back because: A) they trust your brand and B) you’ve invested heavily in paid or influencer ads to get them into your funnel or to purchase from you in the past You don’t want to rely solely on popups or your ESP to capture these users’ information for limited-time offers. Think of it like this: - In retail, store owners know a certain number of their customers personally and work hard to increase their ID resolution of physical customers. - They might get customers to sign up for promotions or other store activities to identify them better. ---🍎 For example, Apple has greeters who collect your information and check you into the store, boosting their brick-and-mortar ID resolution. At Retention.com, we’re closing this gap by extending the life of the cookie and identifying more returning customers with the incredible technology that Adam Robinson, Diana Ross, and the rest of our team have built.
