The Bloomberg Philanthropies Data for Health Initiative and Vital Strategies are all set to host a 5-day workshop on Developing Capacity to Strengthen Vital Statistics Production Processes, bringing together government officials, experts, UN representatives, and partners from over 10 countries across Africa and the Asia-Pacific. We’re beyond excited to kickstart Day 1 with our goal to empower participants with the knowledge, tools, and technical expertise to strengthen civil registration and vital statistics (CRVS) systems. We look forward to this opportunity for knowledge sharing and strengthening the capacity for countries to produce reliable and accurate vital statistics that can inform decisions and improve public health outcomes. #VitalStatistics #CRVS #Data4Health #CapacityBuilding #D4H #GlobalHealth #VitalStrategies #ESCAP #ECA #UNFPA #UNICEF

Our new President and CEO Mary-Ann Etiebet, MD, MBA attended the WomenLift Health & Global Health 50/50 Partner Reception Event tonight. We are proud to join partners in our commitment to make progress towards #GenderEquity in the #GlobalHealth sector and are excited for the work to come. We believe that equity is the cornerstone of resilient and effective public health systems. As a long-standing equity advocate, Mary-Ann’s wisdom and experience in gender equity will be a key part of her vision for Vital Strategies’ work.
It was so uplifting to spend an evening at the WomenLift Health & Global Health 50/50 Partner Reception with so many inspiring women leaders and #globalhealth partners committed to #genderequity. I’m so proud to be part of this community, serving as a #mentor to so many amazing women, and continuing to push for progress with advocates worldwide. Gender equity is an important part of my lifelong commitment to equity and my vision for our work at Vital Strategies. I can’t wait to work with the team to ensure that we #LeaveNoOneBehind - both inside and outside our organization!

Last week, 42 emerging health leaders across Papua New Guinea convened for a multi-day Data Centered Leadership (DCL) workshop to strengthen their data use skills and bring improved practices back into the organizational units they manage. When technical staff and policymakers receive strong support, they can use data to its full potential to improve the lives of their constituents. The DCL workshop, which was hosted in collaboration with the Health Services Sector Development Program, the University of Papua New Guinea, and the Bloomberg Philanthropies Data for Health Initiative, culminated in the production of individual data use improvement project plans, which will be implemented over the next 3 months. #Data4Health #DCL
