Today, we mark a significant milestone in American history: the 60th anniversary of the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. #OTD President Lyndon B. Johnson signed this landmark legislation into law, outlawing discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, and national origin. Every July, we observe National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, also known as BIPOC Mental Health Month, to raise awareness of the unique mental health challenges faced by racial and ethnic minorities in the United States. First declared in 2008, this month honors Bebe Moore Campbell, whose inspiring efforts aim to end stigma and provide crucial mental health information. Let's join together to support mental health for all.

#PrideMonth continues as we honor Kim Coco Iwamoto, a Hawaiian politician. Her election as a trans woman in 2006 made her, at that time, the highest ranking openly transgender elected official in the U.S. & the first openly transgender official to win statewide office in Hawaii.
