Adapting and incorporating latest principals of PR measurement. It all starts with trainings, continues with approach offered to our partners.
📊 Today I had a great opportunity to conduct a workshop for my colleagues from M&P Communications about the Barcelona Principles and their role in evaluating the effectiveness of PR campaigns. The Barcelona Principles are a set of seven principles that serve as a framework for effective PR evaluation. They were developed and updated in 2010 and 2015 and 2020 by the International Association for Measurement and Evaluation of Communications (AMEC Measurement and Evaluation) with the participation of leading PR professionals from around the world. I am grateful to Taisia Stadnichenko for the opportunity to enhance my knowledge and learn more about measurement in PR. I am sincerely thankful to my colleagues for such a productive and practical discussion. It is very valuable to me! 💗

“Exploration of the complexities of #newsmedia and #digitalmediarelations in the digital era has become inevitable. ” In this insightful Digital Media Relations podcast episode, Mark Badham, Vilma Luoma-aho and Daniel Vogler, a Senior Researcher at the University of Zurich, Switzerland, unravels the intricacies of #newsmedia and #digitalmediarelations within corporations. He delves into the definition of news media, explores the dynamics of digital media relations and assesses the impact of digitalization on news media and media relations. News media, as elucidated in the podcast, serves pivotal roles which include; informing the public, shaping perspectives, fostering integration, and facilitating digital media relations. On the flip side, media relations, involves corporate organisations working with the journalists to inform the public about the organisations' mission. Emergence of #digitalmedia has revolutionized access to information, albeit sometimes, diluting journalistic #research and #credibility; as often seen in social media algorithms, news/ information is disseminated rapidly to the public while posing challenges such as #misinformation and #authenticity concerns. Media Convergence Theory; it comes out clearly in the podcast, envisioning the seamless integration of traditional and digital media. This discussion also underscores the interconnectivity between digital media, transformative landscape of story-telling, and information dissemination. The rise of digital media arenas, particularly #artificialintelligence brings both benefits and risks to media relations. While #AI enhances access to information; it also contributes to weakening of journalism due to inadequate research done by the journalists, posing reputational risks. In this digital era, news media remains relevant, complemented by digital media. Managing information in the face of challenges like misinformation, becomes crucial for corporations. Key lessons from the podcast include; ✅The pivotal role of social media in digital media relations, easing collaboration between mainstream media and communication practitioners. ✅Digital media relations is one of the oldest functions in corporate communications. Its interaction is not just limited to sending content to journalists and hoping they'll disseminate, but personal interactions, and relations have to be maintained. In conclusion, the following recommendations should be considered by corporate organisations: prioritize accurate information dissemination amid challenges brought by digitalization. Lastly, journalists and corporate organisations should maintain consistent healthy working relationships. #LeedsBizSchool #LeedsBeckettUniversity #DigitalMediaRelations #NewsMedia

The crucial PR war beyond borders: Navigating challenges in IDF's narrative strategy In the fast-paced digital age, the frontlines extend beyond physical battlegrounds into the realm of narratives and public perception. Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, as the IDF Spokesperson, finds himself at the heart of a critical, yet uphill battle in shaping the international narrative surrounding the Israel-Hamas conflict. While his efforts have been notable, there lies a broader challenge that the IDF and Israel must acknowledge and address. The current situation highlights a significant oversight in the strategic communication efforts of the IDF. Despite Hagari's commendable dedication and the Spokesperson's Unit's tireless work, there's a visible gap in their approach to engaging with the international media and the global audience. This gap not only hinders the accurate portrayal of events but also affects the overall effectiveness of Israel’s messaging on the global stage. One of the critical areas for improvement is the IDF's engagement strategy with international media. While the unit has made strides in communicating with global outlets, the approach remains reactive rather than proactive. This reactive posture has, at times, allowed adversaries to shape the narrative, putting Israel on the defensive and complicating efforts to convey its perspective and values to the world. Furthermore, the reliance on traditional media tactics in an era dominated by social media and instant communication has limited the IDF's ability to control and influence the narrative. The dynamics of modern media consumption demand innovative strategies that go beyond press releases and briefings, engaging directly with global audiences through platforms where they spend their time. The portrayal of the conflict's human dimension also needs reevaluation. While operational achievements and tactical details are important, they must be balanced with stories that highlight the human impact and the moral dilemmas faced by soldiers and civilians alike. This balance is crucial in fostering a deeper understanding and empathy among international audiences. Jerusalem Post https://lnkd.in/dtM4J9bu
