All Star Giving Foundation’s Post

Many children do not have a suitcase or a duffel bag when they enter foster care, especially in emergency situations. They often have to bring whatever belongings they can fit into a plastic trash bag. Carrying belongings in garbage bags can have a negative impact on foster children's self-esteem and sense of worth. It can make them feel disposable and devalued, reinforcing the trauma of displacement. Thanks to our friends and to the donors at Foster Love, our organization is helping over 40 foster kids with their own duffle bags, blanket, coloring books and a teddy bear!
