NABRAWIND TECHNOLOGIES SL offers #technology #innovations for #marine wind plants #floating over depths greater than 60m.. These #innovations rely on two points: ✔️ The use of maintenance-free bolted joints and a modular design for the jacket. ✔️ Installation using float-over techniques utilized in Oil & Gas. The main #benefits compared to conventional #jackets are: ✔️It makes the fabrication and assembly of larger jackets feasible. ✔️It allows for #cost and #time #reduction in fabrication and assembly by simplifying processes through #modularity. ✔️It eliminates the need for #large #vessels (currently in low or no availability) for the offshore installation of the tower, nacelle, and blades. Additionally, this new solution offers significant #advantages over #floating solutions: ✔️It has a much lower fabrication and assembly #cost. ✔️It enables the fabrication and assembly of a greater number of substructures annually. ✔️It #reduces the #storage #space #required at the #port. All this translates into a lower #cost/MW compared to current solutions for depths greater than 60m.
🌀 Major Advances for the Offshore Wind of the Future #SÍ100 project aims to break through the 50-60m depth barrier currently faced by jacket-type substructures and propose a new alternative to floating solutions by developing an optimized and novel modular jacket structure and a new installation methodology for high-power wind turbines. This is based on two main innovations: ✔️ The use of maintenance-free bolted joints and a modular design for the jacket. ✔️ Installation using float-over techniques utilized in Oil & Gas. The main benefits of this new solution compared to conventional jackets are: ✔️It makes the fabrication and assembly of larger jackets feasible. ✔️It allows for cost and time reduction in fabrication and assembly by simplifying processes through modularity. ✔️It eliminates the need for large vessels (currently in low or no availability) for the offshore installation of the tower, nacelle, and blades. All this translates into a lower cost/MW compared to current solutions for depths greater than 60m. After completing and analyzing three testing campaigns conducted at the facilities of the IHCantabria (IHC) to validate the transport and installation process, very promising results have been obtained, confirming the advantages of the solution and opening a new path for depths between 60-120m in the coming years. 🤝 NABRAWIND participates along with TETRACE, ISATI Engineering Solutions and Ingecid in this project, which has been funded by @CDTI_innovacion through the National Plan for Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience financed with "Next Generation EU" funds. #innovation #offshore #NextGenerationEU

The purpose of this workshop series is to improve integration of geo-disciplines in delivering Site Characterisation for Offshore Wind. This is the first of a series of workshops which will be scheduled across Asia Pacific where offshore wind is being developed. The workshops aim to reach regional audiences and address specific geo-engineering challenges from region to region. It also includes a non-technical component as the state of the business can vary between countries with very different regulatory and investment environments. We're calling for abstracts from industry and academia experts to develop a programme of technical presentations and panel discussions addressing the pressing regional challenges for offshore renewable energy development in Australia. This appears to have been published a few days early. It has to be an April Fool's Day joke right? Floating arrays of rotors.... I mean, what could possibly go wrong? 1st rule of working offshore is Keep it Simple. 2nd rule is make it robust. imagine the maintenance/operating costs on this monstrosity? must be a joke.
Pleased to share that Arup are supporting Wind Catching Systems in the development of their innovative multi-rotor floating offshore wind concept through the development of an advanced simulation model which will be used to evaluate and verify loads and performance in a range of operational conditions. #WeAreArup, #FloatingOffshoreWind, #EnergyTransition https://lnkd.in/esQRvhXg

This week our Renewable Lead and Principal Engineer Elizabeth Waterman will be networking with professionals at the Floating Offshore Wind 2023 Conference and Exhibition hosted by RenewableUK UK and Scottish Renewables at P&J Live, Aberdeen. PDL are experts in applying advanced engineering analysis to solve complex technical problems. The team apply Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Global Dynamic Analysis (Orcaflex) to understand likely failure points, optimise systems and the installation process, mitigate risks and decrease costs on floating offshore wind projects. We have collaborated with clients’ engineers on front-end engineering design (FEED) to evaluate and scope different arrangements; provide parametric modelling to test and optimise designs in different environments; evaluate installation methods and layouts; simulate loading effects from waves, water and transport to assess fatigue; and evaluate the best approach to mitigate loss and quantify risk for insurance and third-party validation. To find out how our expert analysts can support your next project please contact Elizabeth. #engineeringexcellence #technicalsolutions #advancedanalysis #floatingwind23 #floatingoffshore #offshorewind #Orcaflex #FEA #CFD #renewables NOF Energi Coast Global Underwater Hub RenewableUK Scottish Renewables Corio Generation Equinor Ørsted RWE ScottishPower Shell Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult Aker Solutions Global Energy Group Muir Mhòr Offshore Wind Farm Limited The Crown Estate Crown Estate Scotland UK Ports EDF (UK) Energy Transition Zone Ltd Floventis Energy Stromar Wind LKAB SSE Renewables The University of Edinburgh Wind Energy Network Magazine Deep Wind Offshore DNV Fugro Mainstream Renewable Power Sea Energy Group Clean Energy Pipeline Energy Global
