Growing up lower-middle-class and in my opinion unimpressive, I carried the weight of self-doubt throughout my life. The persistent negative self-talk served as a constant companion, a reminder of my humble beginnings. I had teachers and bosses throughout my life who reminded me of this by saying: “you’re a moron” (3rd Grade Teacher), “you’ll never get it” (7th grade math teacher), “you’ll never amount to anything” (HS Guidance Counselor), {whispered to another employee} “he’s not that smart…” (sales manager at a tile store). My tenure at Zillow marked a transformative chapter – a crucial juncture in both my career and personal narrative. Up until that point I worked in sales environments that were easy to stand out on top (despite not being smart). The quotas were low, so was the pay. And being a top performer at these companies gave me a false sense of confidence, which was masking what I knew to be true, I wasn’t shit. Can’t lose if you don’t try, right? Well I ended up trying and landing at Zillow. Furthermore I saw early success during my ramp up (thanks to my managers Samy and Doug) and tried even harder by going to the very challenging Vertical Living team. Within a few months I very quickly had accumulated two quota misses. it was proved to me what I already knew… Brant… you suck! The reality that three strikes and you’re out hit me hard, and I realized I was about to let down everyone who believed in me. I was now married, wanted to grow a family, and people at Zillow were rooting for me to win. Despite the pressure, I made a conscious choice to silence the negative self-talk. This was more than hitting quotas; it was about breaking free from the chains of self-doubt long rooted in my psyche. Who was I to prove myself right, and all these people wrong? Over the next six years, I rewrote the script. By refusing entry to negative thoughts, I not only met quotas but surpassed them. I got promoted, grew my career. It was a testament to overcoming self-imposed limitations and proving that one's origin doesn't dictate their destination. #BreakingSelfDoubt #CareerTransformation #RisingAboveBackground

Greetings, truck drivers! Is your personal brand something you've ever considered? You might be thinking, "That's for influencers, not me." But here's the truth: your brand is simply how others see you, and it matters in our industry too. Your reputation as a reliable, safe, and professional driver is your brand. It's what makes dispatchers want to work with you and companies eager to hire you. So, how do you build it? Start by being consistent. Deliver on time, every time. Keep your rig spotless. Be courteous on the road and at drop-offs. Share your expertise on social media or trucking forums. Maybe even start a blog about life on the road. Remember, you're not just moving freight; you're building relationships and a career. Your personal brand is your ticket to better routes, higher pay, and more opportunities. So, what's your brand saying about you? Let's make it roar as loud as your engine!

Hands-on Product Mgmt Leader | Sold first startup, theLiftEdapp.com, in 2022 | 0 to 1 software & team builder
Hey Friends - I’m looking to join a company, for the first time in a decade! I’m still on the hunt for my next gig, and interested in product management roles (Senior PM or Staff / Principal PM roles) at Series C/D and later stage SaaS companies still growing 50-100% YOY 🤔 as well as public companies, industry agnostic! I'd really appreciate it if you could: 1️⃣Repost or comment to share it with your network 2️⃣ If my skillset aligns, refer me to a role at your company 3️⃣ Mention my name if someone you know is hiring Though I’ve done Edtech the past decade, I’m exploring new industries and pretty open to work on, and help grow cool & impactful SaaS products. Before LiftEd, I started a Polaris Slingshot (3 wheeled recreational vehicle) rental company and scaled it up to 8 slingshots and > $500k revenue, profitably, with no physical storefront! A company I ran with my brother. I know my way around a financial model 😏 but love building software, taking it to market and scaling them. I have always been a product-led founder with a keen eye for UX and self proclaimed strong product sense; hence, the desire to stay in product. That’s where my heart and skills most lie. I’m also open to product strategy roles with crossover GTM, GM, and/or P&L responsibility…I’m certainly willing to tactically roll my sleeves up and/or lead small scrappy teams on 0-1 initiatives. I’m based in Miami and looking for remote gigs but willing to travel a few times a quarter / year. Here’s a little about my story: https://lnkd.in/ehTr7GDt #jobseeker #jobseeking #productmanager #saas #startups #anewchapter

This is very interesting. It begs a huge question: What are the boundaries of what an employer can ask of an employee? This rang two bells with me. First - I've never driven new cars. I SOLD new cars for three years, and saw first-hand the depreciation one experiences. We used to have what we called "The $5,000 bump" at the end of the dealership's driveway. That meant that as soon as the person drove their new car over that bump, they lost $5,000. That was 30 years ago - now it would be more like a $15,000 bump. Plus, I like older cars and I hate car payments. My cars have always been clean, attractive, and well maintained, but they aren't new. Second - I had a situation a number of years ago where, after I had been employed with a company for over a year, they made a request that I move closer to them. I lived near Kansas City at the time, but not in it. I was always on time to work, fulfilled every requirement and then some, and in fact, worked more hours than they asked me to. I felt that this was beyond acceptable bounds, and I told them so. Not long after, I separated from the company. If this employee's car is one that they use to visit customers, then I can see it; their image is contingent upon the image projected by the salespeople. But there's no indication of that. The issue is that they don't see the vehicle as being "appropriate looking" for the person and their role. They are using a rather tenuous "you might be susceptible or irresponsible" grounds for this email. My opinion: This is out of bounds. I have a feeling that a court might see it the same way. I can't help but notice that this is dated January, 2020, before the world went crazy and before the hiring market changed. What do you think?

WOW!! AND JUST WOW! To say I am humbled and grateful with the results of my team and I to date would be a huge understatement. Where do I begin? When I first joined Simpay 4 months ago going on 5, I quickly realized this is a company like no other. We truly are a work family, people who share positivity, common vision, passion and genuine understanding and nurture potential and hard work. All of us in this space know that there are no shortcuts to excellence. However, all of us also know, that your environment is a HUGE part of your success, your wellbeing, your work and life balance. While there is no finality in success, and no shame in failure, it is the courage and support you receive and GIVE that make you into somebody who always strives to do their best. My father always said to give 110% of effort to whatever I am doing and never compare myself to others. I celebrate accomplishments of my work colleagues and friends and compete only with myself. With that being said. a DRUMROLL please!!! My team has grown and as a result my PLAM - Projected Live Annual Margin to date is $396,155!!!! 87% of goal for the WHOLE TEAM! Now, my personal goal is at least $1MIL in PLAM by December. None of this would be possible without support and encouragement I receive on daily basis by my amazing leadership of Jeff Cotrell and Dan Glazer - my two Yutes whom I cannot say enough about. Also, we truly live what we preach here at Simpay and our Sales Support, Merchant Support, Tech team, Underwriting, Risk and all our sister departments make it possible for people like me in Outside Sales to succeed. At the moment, I lead our division and our leadership team with most PLAM to date! If you would like to join our incredible team, make true value and long-lasting impact on your family finances, receive lifetime residuals and white glove service for your clients, look no further!! We are growing, hiring, and expanding our product offering and hope you would join us and achieve generational wealth and satisfaction about the job well done!! Last but not least - none of this would be possible without my hubby's support.. Thomas K. Archer - you are my knight in shinning armor, my rock and my best friend! 😍 For job inquires contact me directly on marcher@simpay.net or apply to the link below. TIP FOR HIRING MANAGERS! Remember, interviewing isn't just about grilling the candidate. Think of it as a two-way street. You're selling your company and the role, just like they're selling their skills. So, don't be a used car salesperson. (Unless you're actually hiring for a used car salesperson position, then knock yourself out) #hiringmanagers #hiringtips #hroutsourcing #recruitmentoutsourcing #hireright #talentmanagement #talentacquisition #hiringmanager #hiringsolutions #hiringtalent #hiring2024

Buying or selling Real Estate is filled with many twists and turns. Similar to a rollercoaster, you don’t know what is coming. 🎢 Hiring the right team to represent you can instantly transform the experience from scary to fun and exciting. A team can accomplish tasks quicker than most independent agents, due to the number of hands on deck, the systems in place, and the structure they offer. If you or someone you know has had thoughts of buying or selling in 2023, I’d love to be the one to help. #whoyouworkwithmatters
