GC Insight has an experienced team that specialises in Destinations and Place-making. For example, we recently worked with We Made That to support Wigan Council in the creation of a creative industries asset strategy, providing socio economic advice and casemaking expertise. "The creative industries add £124bn of value to the UK. One in five jobs in London are in the creative economy. Creative industries in the north could add £10bn to the UK economy through a cross-regional strategy. If the next government is aiming for growth then surely at least part of the answer is culture." - We Made That, 'What can we do to embed culture into our towns and cities?' https://lnkd.in/eEFS6VrG #destinations #place #culture
We’re making space for creative industries in Wigan. In collaboration with ekosgen and GC Insight, we are supporting Wigan Council in developing a creative industries asset strategy that harnesses opportunities and infrastructure to support a long-term blueprint for the borough's cultural and creative sector growth. The strategy seeks to leverage cultural and creative assets to foster a cohesive and dynamic landscape that drives economic growth and enhances community wellbeing. From #Leigh, #Atherton and #Tyldesley to #Standish and #Wigan, our approach includes a strategic review of the borough’s cultural assets and infrastructure. We know that Wigan has a strong and vibrant community of creatives, and this strategy needs to ensure that there are the right types of facilities to allow this community to thrive 💪.
