Anxiety: The Silent Barrier to Youth Employment Did you know that 43% of young people identify anxiety as a major obstacle to securing a job? 🤯 This statistic underscores a hidden challenge that often goes unnoticed in traditional employment support: mental health matters as much as skills and experience. For many, anxiety isn't just a personal struggle—it’s a systemic barrier that can limit access to opportunities, interviews, and ultimately, careers. At Imployable, we understand that holistic support is essential. Our programs integrate confidence-building, mental wellness sessions, and practical career mapping to empower young people. It’s not just about landing a job—it’s about fostering resilience for long-term career success. Let’s change the narrative together. How can we collectively create environments where young people feel supported, not overwhelmed? Let’s discuss in the comments.👇 #YouthEmployment #MentalHealth #CareerSupport #Empowerment #Imployable

To all job seekers: Getting your first job can be pretty challenging; whether you have the papers or not. It might take a toll on your mental health. But, there is a company or person who will give you the opportunity. I remember someone once told me: "you apply for any job that you meet any requirement- even if it's one requirement like education level- don't disqualify yourself, that's not your work, it the work of the hiring team to check that" #jobseekers

What Happens When Your Career Becomes Your Whole Identity Many people with high-pressure jobs find themselves unhappy with their careers, despite working hard their whole lives to get to their current position. Hating your job is one thing – but what happens if you identify so closely with your work that hating your job means hating yourself? Psychologists use the term “enmeshment” to describe a situation where the boundaries between people become blurred, and individual identities lose importance. Enmeshment prevents the development of a stable, independent sense of self. While identifying closely with your career isn’t necessarily bad, it makes you vulnerable to a painful identity crisis if you burn out, get laid off, or retire. Individuals in these situations frequently suffer anxiety, depression, and despair. By claiming back some time for yourself and diversifying your activities and relationships, you can build a more balanced and robust identity in line with your values.

It's been almost 3 months since I left my last employer. Although I never thought I'd leave a job without a back up plan, these last 3 months have offered some truly amazing perspective in terms of my mental health and how being neurodivergent affects a person is a neurotypical world. Some of the positives have been: - spending more time with my son and step-kids during their time off school (and saving on child care costs while at it) - the ability to really sit down and think about what direction I want to take my career in. - a better understanding of how to deal with my neurodivergency that is both beneficial to me and wherever I may land my next career journey The negatives: - I am not built to be a SAHM, even though the children are all older. It's definitely not something I would enthusiastically chose to do, but I definitely salute all those who do it, cause it's not easy at all!!! - The world is getting more expensive and not having a steady source of income is proving stressful. It's definitely a hard market out there, but I am positive that the right role will come at the right time. #jobhunting #unemployed #lookingforwork #insuranceprofessional #publicrelations #SAHM

85% of people are dissatisfied with their jobs . (I will post the source in the comments) Although this statistic is from 6 years ago, not much has changed. This is one of the reasons why I have made it my mission to help professionals achieve fulfilling careers. My goal is to help individuals realize their strengths and potential so they can find suitable environments to grow and evolve systematically. I have grown tired of hearing stories about unhappy individuals stuck in monotonous routines, trapped in discomfort and misery. Working in a job without excitement, satisfaction, and learning opportunities is a disheartening experience. It shouldn't be this way. It does not need to be this way. Our jobs should be where we can utilize our skills, communicate and collaborate effectively, and feel productive and fulfilled. I understand that it feels unfair. We have been taught to navigate challenges with support systems. As children, we have our parents for guidance. In school or college, we have tutors. In our personal lives, we have friends to help and challenge us. But in our careers, it becomes more challenging. To receive help, we must be proactive and seek qualified advice. My vision is to reduce the number of unhappy professionals by helping as many individuals as possible create their career paths and stay on course. I aim to build confident and well-prepared professionals who are eager to tackle any challenge or setback that comes their way. You don’t deserve to be unhappy in your job—nobody does. Ignoring this issue will only lead to more significant problems down the road, which will come sooner or later. If you are facing challenges in your work environment and want to change that asap, send me a DM and I will see if we can help.

Hey, connections, I recently spoke with a junior who shared some mixed feelings after landing a job at a major MNC. While she was thrilled with the opportunity, she admitted that leaving her parents behind was a real struggle. I reminded her that, unfortunately, our hometown doesn't have the same job opportunities, so relocating is often necessary. Her response got me thinking: "When will our city experience industrial growth so residents don't have to move away for jobs?" This is a common issue for many who struggle with homesickness. Traveling long distances for work can take a toll on mental health, as being away from family can be challenging. It's time for undeveloped cities to attract IT sectors and management companies, allowing individuals to thrive in their careers while staying close to home. Career growth is important, but so is mental health, and many people miss out on family time, especially during festivals, because they live far away. Let's work towards a future where career success doesn't come at the cost of being with loved ones. #CareerAndFamily #MentalHealthMatters #IndustrialGrowth #Homesickness #WorkLifeBalance #SupportLocalEconomies #CareerOpportunities #FamilyFirst #CommunityGrowth #WorkFromHome #RelocationChallenges

Covid gave birth to a different kind of attitude amongst some people. Today's youth is very very comfortable not having a full time job or work. They are okay with the idea of sitting at home and trying their hands at different things specially social media . While some are doing that seriously and are quite successful, but majority of them have found an escape route to tell their family, friends and the society that they are doing something while the truth is most of them are just wasting time and getting nowhere. Sometimes, it really scares me when I think so few people are actually skilled for their jobs. Most of them still rely on their parents for expenses. If you are hiring, you would know, how difficult it is to find sincere people. Someone rightly said - tough times create strong men, strong men create good times, and good times create weak men, and weak men create tough times. What do you think?
