Hey Outdoor Industry Friends, if we don't support an annual or bi-annual gathering like Outdoor Retailer, what will be our opportunity to get together and have amazing conversations with fellow industry friends and peers? I for one really enjoy going to OR twice a year, as the value received from the chance meetings, reconnection with folks, learnings of what is being found successful or challenging within other people's regions or concentrations, panel discussions from legends or newbies in the space invaluable to the success of keeping a pulse and relationship with the outdoor industry as a whole. If we don't have these gatherings, we risk missing out on learning from or supporting each other, finding new innovations or techniques that we can benefit from in our business, which in turn holds us back from growing. Many years ago, a certain outdoor brand boycotted OR because of UT legislation going against their beliefs, so OR moved to CO. Since returning to UT, this company has not come back to OR although still show at the Salt Palace for other tradeshows and operate stores in UT, which is conflictive and confusing and makes folks I speak with think it's something more against Outdoor Retailer than UT in general. Maybe it’s just the trend of a lot of larger brands not doing tradeshows anymore, or is it OR specifically? I want to hear from others in the Outdoor industry, about how we can support our outdoor shows like Outdoor Retailer, and if it's not there then where can we all gather at least once a year to come together and support each other, network, learn/teach, and be aligned? Thanks for the positivity, this is a PRO Outdoor Industry post, not affiliated with Outdoor Retailer, and only but love for ALL our Outdoor brands. #outdoorindustry #tradeshow #outdoorretailer #outdoors #tradeshows #Utah #ORshow #seminar #networking

BREAKING NEWS! Outdoor Industry Organization Adds Second June to Calendar RENO, NV — In a groundbreaking move, the Outdoor Industry Organization (OIO) announced today the addition of a second June to the calendar. This unprecedented change is intended to accommodate the growing number of outdoor-related trade shows that traditionally take place during this month. "June has always been the cornerstone for our industry," said OIO President Jill Smith. "By adding a second June, or Double June, we can ensure that every event gets the attention it deserves without forcing retailers and manufacturers to choose between them.” Retailers are enthusiastic about the change. "I’ve always felt like I needed to clone myself to attend all the important shows in June," said John Buyer, owner of Mountain Gear. "Now, with two Junes, I can properly allocate time to each event, such as not attending early morning speaking events.” Industry executives are equally supportive. "This decision reflects our industry's commitment to growth and innovation," remarked Jane Black, CEO of Adventure Co. "Having a second June allows for more networking, product launches, and educational opportunities, and bulk discounts on pallets and shipping expenses.” However, not everyone is thrilled with changes. The Gregorian monks, the historical custodians of the calendar, have expressed their displeasure. Brother Anselm, a spokesperson for the monastic community, voiced their concerns. "The calendar is a sacred construct, perfected over centuries. Adding an extra month disrupts the natural order and trivializes our heritage." Creating unique event experiences that connect, inspire, have lasting impact & create priceless memories ⚡ Message me "EVENTS" if you want your event to connect, inspire & have an impact on your audience 💥
Had an amazing time last week in the Gold Coast for Retail Fest at the Convention Centre, Delivery on a sponsorship program my client had during the event: 1 x keynote presentation 2 x breakout sessions 20m x 6m customized exhibition stand It has been months of planning, pivoting, and developing creative concepts. It was early mornings, bumping in and building the stand, Ubering around the Gold Coast to get last minute items from Officeworks to Supercheap Auto and of course Bunnings 😂 We had it all on the stand: A spinning wheel competition, networking area and one of the electric vehicles And the pinnacle on the final day was when we had a cue of 60 key winners from the spinning wheel try their luck at unlocking the box to our major prize and win a trip to Uluru! There is nothing more thrilling and joyful when you develop an idea in your head, And then see it come to life and play out exactly how you imagined and planned it would! It was a great team that got behind the activation and volunteered their time to man the stand, talk to all the Retailers and of course, capture the leads! A brilliant 3 days was had a lot of laughs and memories were made from the experience ❤️ What is the best thing you have ever one from a competition at an event? Would love to know what you won in the comments below 👇 If you are looking for some creative ideas to engage your customers, comment below with the word ‘EVENTS’ and let’s have a chat about how I can help. 👇 👇 #eventswithimpact #events #eventorganiser #eventplanning #retailfest #sponsorships
