Leaving the fossile-driven economy behind is quite a journey. Our contribution: #BIOECONOMY #DEEPDIVEs We learned to apply solutions bilaterally and catalyze scaling ✅ But transition towards biogenic feedstock means huge dynamic pressure for specific value chains which cannot be sorted by individual stakeholder alone. In a collaborative format we focus on suitable value chains to identify upcoming challenges, specifically address them and close innovation gaps by selecting the best startups. THE WHY: We all know that closing the food gap is the core challenge for agrifood systems - but its a mega trend difficult to address proactively and individually. So whats behind this initiative and whats our contribution? To foster an economy based on biogenic feedstock (and circular processes) we act #bilaterally, on #ecosystem level and now #ValueChains. - In a bilateral setting we established #VentureClienting activities to catalyze economically viable cooperation between innovative Startups and scaled industry (Aquapurna is an example). - Fostering #Ecosystems consortia are key like in projects like Smarterra. The missing link has always been the connection between a topline setting and enabling change by specifically applying change. We are more than happy to get support by the fantastic team of Rentenbank with funding by BMEL (Bundesministerium für Ernährung und Landwirtschaft). Lukas Hoyos Alexander Engelke Caspar von Alvensleben Dr. Christian Bock Nikola Steinbock Stay tuned! And many thanks for all the support to develop this format https://lnkd.in/e94uicHr RootCamp - A SpinLab Company

Calyxia, a French clean #technology business, is on track to become profitable. The company recently raised a $35 million Series B financing to enable it scale up industrial manufacturing of its sustainable alternatives to #microparticles and microcapsules, putting it on track to achieve net profitability by 2026. But co-founder and CEO Jamie Walters thinks the B Corp is only getting started. The "starter" problem Calyxia is addressing is astounding on a worldwide scale: Microplastics are poisoning everything on the planet, from soils, rivers, and beaches to the cold waters of the Arctic — and they're even seeping into our own bodies and minds. Aside from that, the traditional production methods used by the materials and chemical sectors might result in a variety of environmental difficulties. It is critical to green industrial #production processes if we are to protect the environment for future generations and minimise the energy required to produce goods. Walters stated that Calyxia's goal for the next five to ten years is to become the #globalleader in the microparticles and microcapsules categories. Following that, he hopes the company's technologies will have a broader impact on the industrial #chemicalbusiness. The company was founded in 2015 as a result of academic research between Harvard and ESPCI-Paris PSL, and Walters was a member of the scientific founding team after spending time at Cambridge University in the United Kingdom, where he earned his PhD in #biotechnology and chemical engineering and worked as a researcher. "At first, I was in a lab with a team of #scientists, researching and discovering the limitations of this technology, and dreaming about where it may take us. He explained to TechCrunch how it may be turned into products and used to disrupt businesses. https://lnkd.in/fzpnPPW #calyxia #microplastics #pollution #cleantech #startup #funding #agriculture #sustainability #innovation #ecoinnovation #greentech #biodegradable #pollutionsolutions #circulareconomy #business #zerowastesolutions #microcapsuletechnology #householdbrands #intellectualproperty Calyxia

Digitalization’s hollowing out of an industry into a completely new form moves like Nature: Slow is smooth, smooth is fast… [ref: https://lnkd.in/gnQmK62a ] We are among those in the Ag sector[1+] grateful to the folks in other business sectors and human endeavors hollowed out by the tech sector for their demonstrations of what works and what does not. ~ [ref: 2+ ~ #DontGetCommoditized ~ [ref: 3+ ~ #WhentoLeave [e.g. The time to leave for shelter plays out similar to how in Nature when a storm is brewing is the time to think, decide and act quickly while not waiting for the storm to hit.[4]. How effective / focused on your sustainability service / regenerative agriculture partnership needs and requirements can an #ExtractionAge global ag trader be when their own internal struggles some describe as “shrinking profits and lowering future outlooks” are so front and center in their lives?[5]. Not to mention their #ExtractionAge lead-with-leverage internal culture fostering #Jackassery[6]? If not now, when is the time you will be seen exploring #EcosystemAge convergence alternatives?
