In my work as a GTM advisor for SaaS companies, I am frequently asked how to position a company that has multiple products. Here is my advice: First off, as you scale, there are not only multiple products, there are multiple markets, multiple GTM motions, multiple personas, multiple audiences - be careful that you don't oversimplify the underlying complexity. Next ask and answer these 5 questions: 1. For your ICP, what is the big insight that drives urgency? 💡 2. What new category do you want to create and dominate? and why do customers care about this? ⛳ 3. Where do you want to play vs not play? ▶️ 4. How do you want to win? 🏆 5. What are the current growth levers that can scale? ⛰️ It's never as simple as addressing those five questions but it can be the start of figuring out the messaging that creates cohesion in the market. 📈 If you have any thoughts or comments, please share!

We started 2023 by building GTM. We're starting 2024 by revisiting GTM. In the past year, we gathered so many valuable insights, shipped stellar product, and got to work closely with amazing customers. Now is the time to put these insights to work. Here is how we're thinking about Default's GTM for 2024: 1. Optimize baseline. After a few great quarters, we know what works so most of my time will be spent on making improvements: ICPs, positioning, pricing, packaging, and distribution will be at the top of my list. 2. Big bets. The goal is to focus the remaining resources on projects that have a chance to 10x our baseline. I'll be experimenting on a few of the large calculated bets that could really either help us go 2x faster or will yield nothing. Exciting times ahead.

How do you cope with "Let's circle back after the holidays" season? 💫 It’s easy to go into autopilot this time of year - everyone has a lot going on. But, it’s actually the best time to do something bold. The weeks around the holidays don’t have to be “dead space” ☠ My advice this time of year? Zig when others are zagging ⮃ I just wrapped up a GTM messaging project for an enterprise SaaS company to arm their sales and marketing teams with new positioning, thought leadership content, sales decks, web copy, and more. Next step? Marketing and sales enablement. We talked about timing. I thought I might get the "let's wait til after the holidays." But no. We're zigging while others are zagging. We'll get the entire marketing team up to speed over the next few weeks, finalize plans, and put finishing touches on content, so that we can roll this out to all of sales the first week of January. Now they'll be primed for a massive Q1.  💰 What’s your favorite way to take advantage of late Q4?
