Using artificial intelligence (AI) in the context of criminal justice introduces a variety of challenges and risks. But when leveraged in a responsible manner that’s grounded in human rights, AI can help judges, lawyers, and civil society access the data, knowledge, and empowerment they need to deliver justice for survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) and create open mechanisms for detecting and preventing further instances of GBV at scale. Organizations like DataGénero - Observatorio are working in Latin America to build mechanisms for gender equity and justice through AI, intersectional education, and collaborative approaches. Please join us on Thursday, August 15th at 1pm EST for a timely and poignant conversation between Ivana Feldfeber, the Co-founder and Executive Director at DataGénero, and Yolanda Botti-Lodovico, the Storytelling and Advocacy Lead at The Patrick J. McGovern Foundation. They will discuss how their team is using AI to expand our awareness of GBV in Argentina, the importance of infusing our global AI and data ecosystem with a broad commitment to transfeminism, and how humans working in partnership can promote justice and equity for all persons, regardless of their gender identity and/or sexual orientation. #artificialintelligence #ai #gender #genderequity #intersectionality #feminism #transfeminism #socialimpact #criminaljustice #humanrights #justice #technology #data #techforgood #aiforgood #publicpolicy #philanthropy #nonprofits

Here at PJMF, we often talk about ways to build new power through data. Thank you to DataGenero for putting that concept into practice through AymurAI.

Listening in from Nashville and looking forward to this conversation.
Thanks for this amazing work. It’s a very interesting implementation of AI in the anti GBV space. If all the data is stored at individual courts, do they let you access this data, and if so do you then imagine using it long term to loby for policy change and how will you approach that?

Q: We seem to have come around to the same place from a few years ago when everyone was talking about AI and ethics and coming up with lists. And now, it feels the same. There are vey few feminist implementations of AI like Ivana's project. How do you think we move beyond critical analysis to ethical community-led experimentation?
