Here's a short Q&A with Heather about her role. What’s your role at Rival and what’s your favourite part about it? I am the Office Experience Manager in Vancouver at Rival. What I love most about this position is the ever-changing nature of each day. The office environment is dynamic, with different faces every day and tasks constantly changing. The day-to-day responsibilities are always shifting, and no day is ever the same here. This really keeps things interesting and engaging. Talk us through a great achievement you’ve had since working with us. The end of 2023 was a busy one at Rival/Reach3. We relocated our Vancouver office while hosting 2 company Holiday gatherings, with over 45 attendees flying in. Successfully managing these events simultaneously stands out as one of my top accomplishments at Rival. Everything fell into place seamlessly for the construction and relocation, while both parties turned out to be successes. Bringing everyone together and achieving these milestones was amazing. What surprised you most about working at Rival Technologies? Having never ventured into the tech industry before, it's very interesting to witness how it works. The fast-pace and ever-changing scope of the company have been exciting to be a part of. Story time! I got a message on Monday, followed by a call + voicemail. Someone out there needed STARC Systems Inc. walls ASAP. We connected, ran through the options, and had a solution figured out in under 100 minutes. I brought in a rental partner we have in the area and walls were on site for this customer request the same day! Why do I share this story? Three reasons: 1. Being visible and active on LinkedIn is what led to this sale. My number is available on here and I am always talking about our products. 2. STARC is extremely nimble and we can make those seemingly impossible situations happen thanks to our many partners nationwide. 3. This was NOT our traditional customer - in fact it’s an industry that we have not aggressively prospected. You never know who’s seeing your product and thinking of a use for it. This is why I love LinkedIn. More importantly, this is what’s so exciting about the opportunity we have at STARC. Who would’ve thought…? WALLS! #construction #renovation

Has this thing ever happen to you? So I recently applied for Technical Support role which was remote role at Spectrio and after few days the recruiter reached out to me about next step in the process which was to answer some technical questions and other general questions. Like I had already scheduled an interview with the recruiter this Monday but unfortunately she canceled an interview before that date. If you already had the candidate (internally) in mind or selected then why did Spectrio took me to next step and made me answer technical question and then decided not to move forward. This is so frustrating and not valid at this point. If you do not want to move forward with candidate then why are you wasting the company's and candidate's time to follow up with next step. If you really really want to follow up with next step in hiring process with candidates then please also make sure to interview candidate and do not just send an email to follow up and make candidate answer technical question and decide not to move forward with them.
