The first implantation of the Nexus Duo™ Aortic Arch Stent Graft System in Malta.
A collaboration between Prohealth, Artivion, Inc. and the Endovascular Team at Mater Dei Hospital, has resulted in the first implantation of the Nexus Duo™ Aortic Arch Stent Graft System in Malta. Built on the Nexus™ Aortic Arch Technology developed by Endospan Ltd. the innovative stent graft system is a custom-made device intended for the endovascular repair of an Aortic Arch Aneurysm (AAA). Allowing a flexible approach to the aortic arch, Nexus™ Duo is designed to mitigate stroke risk in a double branch configuration. A huge WELL DONE to all the clinicians involved in this case. We have yesterday witnessed great dedication and teamwork from all involved. Jason Busuttil; Theodosios Bisdas, MD, PhD, FACS; HoKiu Wong; Alan Abilio

Delighted to share our latest paper from the NI-HEART group led by Dr Gerard Walls from Queen's University Belfast and Belfast Health and Social Care Trust. 📢 The key novel findings are: ➡ Atrial Fibrillation (AF) is a common form of radiotherapy induced ❤️ toxicity in patients with NSCLC ➡ The pulmonary veins maybe the source of AF post-radiotherapy (to our knowledge, this has not been described before) ➡ The radiotherapy dose to the pulmonary veins are associated with probability of AF in this study. Of course it can be hard to avoid the pulmonary views delivering radiotherapy to the thorax, but perhaps we had optimise other risk factors. 🔗 To paper: https://lnkd.in/eSUdNgfH

As we hit the #RoadToEurope we’re showcasing the innovators from around the globe who are selected to present at #LSIEurope24. Today we’re showcasing 3 innovators in Israel selected to present at LSI Europe ‘24 in Portugal: 1. Jordan Pollack — VeinWay Ltd. → Its Traversa catheter has been designed to penetrate blockages with its unique features, including: a steerable needle to maintain navigational control, a 6mm balloon that anchors the device to enhance needle penetration, and a braided catheter that balances catheter strength and flexibility. 2. Dr. Ofir Aharon — PATTERNOX → Developed a handheld scanner that can detect lesion distortions, a warning sign of cancer and cosmetic abnormalities. The device does not rely on ubiquitous color change, but on distortions beneath the skin to detect potentially harmful lesions. 3. Ilan Uchitel — CAPS Medical → Developed a proprietary Non-Thermal Plasma technology (NTAPTM) platform that selectively targets a diverse range of tumors, through minimally invasive procedures, while preserving healthy tissue. We look forward to seeing these innovators take the stage this September 16th - 20th in Portugal. Want to see what other innovators are presenting at LSI Europe ‘24? Head over to our website to see the first 100+ innovators selected to present.
