👷♀️📢 Great news for wind turbine manufacturing in Europe. As announced on the first day of #WindEurope2024 our member ZF Group is responding to the current and future market growth for #windenergy in Europe. ZF will install three serial production lines for complete onshore and offshore powertrains and gearboxes. ZF's investment decision will help to maintain European technology leadership for wind energy and is another step in scaling up Europe's wind turbine manufacturing capacities. "The EU’s renewable energy target of 42.5% by 2030 is ambitious but not impossible to achieve. We have to start now and all together,” says Felix Henseler, CEO of ZF Wind Power. ZF has now converted its Belgian plant in Lommel into a serial production hub with three serial production lines for the offshore and onshore wind markets. ZF products can now cover the entire European offshore landscape. A mix of SHIFT gearboxes, offshore and onshore powertrains will leave the plant in Lommel (Belgium) every day. 📸 ZF Group

This is great news. The climate goals for the coming years can be reached if we accelerate the expansion of renewables, expand the power grid and decrease bureaucratic obstacles to new renewables projects.
