This week, we dedicated time to learning, growing and fostering inclusivity during Neurodiversity Celebration Week. Through a series of engaging online activities, we continue to deepen our understanding of neurodivergence and learn how we can create a more supportive workplace for everyone. 💡 Celebrating Neurodiversity Week at Flotation Energy 🛠️ Tuesday 18 March: Inclusive workspaces – Hosted by Louise Doherty, Head of People and Culture, we explored what neurodiversity means and why it matters: an impactful discussion with employees sharing their lived experiences and insights. 🌍 Wednesday 19 March: Neurodiversity life hacks – An interactive workshop led by Ashley Mackenzie (Assoc) CIPD, HR Manager which crowdsourced practical and inclusive strategies to boost focus, communication and wellbeing – also debunking common misconceptions about neurodivergence. 🛣️ Thursday 20 March: Neurodiversity from a clinical and community perspective – Practical advice from an NHS GP, looking at how we can explore diagnoses and support a friend, colleague or family member who is neurodivergent. A huge thank you to everyone within the team who listened, shared their perspectives and helped us understand more so that we can continue to make an inclusive space for all. Let's keep the conversation going — inclusion is a journey, not just a week! #NeurodiversityCelebrationWeek #InclusionMatters #DifferentBrainsDifferentStrengths

Last week, Matthew Barnott, AMEI and Jon Ruszka from our Early Opportunities team met with MSc students studying Renewable Energy Engineering at The University of Aberdeen, to share a practical insight into floating offshore wind. The discussion sparked lots of questions and as a follow on, both Matt and Jon have accepted roles onto the university’s Industry Advisory Board (IAB). The IAB hosts a wealth of industry professionals and academics who meet periodically to discuss programme content, advise on topics relevant to industry and help to improve engagement with industry for future learnings. The roles are the perfect fit for Matt and Jon, who both studied renewable engineering at The University of Aberdeen and were keen to give something back. Supporting students to learn more about the industry we work in and the career opportunities that lie ahead is key to delivering the right skills to drive the future of the energy transition. #STEM #RenewableEngineering #MSCEngineering #AberdeenUniversity M. After a positive experience last year, the Flotation Energy team are delighted to once again be attending #OEUKShareFair on 19 March. Share Fair offers great insight into upcoming projects in offshore wind, oil & gas, hydrogen, CCS and geothermal, and opportunities to hear from key industry decision-makers and meet them one-to-one. Our supply chain colleagues Dan Wright, John Black and Keith Johnston will be on hand in the one-to-one zone, ready to connect with representatives from the energy supply chain and update them on our projects. Book tickets (and take advantage of a 3 for 2 offer for OEUK Members, if applicable) via the link below. 📅 19 March 2025 📍 P&J Live, Aberdeen 🎟️ https://loom.ly/XyrAL2A Offshore Energies UK #EnergyTransition

Flotation Energy is a Scottish Company backed by Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO), Japan’s largest electricity utility; and one of the largest in the world. Through Japanese inward investment we have been able to accelerate our portfolio of offshore wind projects, which in turn is helping to standardise technology, support supply chain development and create jobs within Scotland and the UK. Floating offshore wind offers enormous potential for UK inward investment, creating a multi-billion-pound industry that will service tens of thousands of jobs. As floating wind technology advances and more projects are given the green light, international partnerships and agreements will support the export of learnings, technologies and skills, elements critical to delivering scalable, sustainable energy solutions that will provide environmental and economic benefits for generations to come. Elizabeth Baxter Director of Finance with our joint venture partner Vårgrønn states an important message about increasing the representation of women within the offshore wind sector to accelerate action, in this great soundbite by Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. Within Flotation Energy, and across all of our project partnerships, our aim is to ensure that everyone working with us feels safe and welcome, in a nurturing and inclusive environment. #InternationalWomansDay #IWD2025 #AccelerateAction
The UK's energy sector has historically been male-dominated but things are changing. As we look to the UK's future energy system, we need more women in leadership roles across industry to #AccelerateAction and get us to clean power by 2030. We catch up with those at the POWERful Women event on why it matters 📽️👇 #IWD25

Site investigation works for Green Volt are now underway, covering the length of the project’s 34km onshore cable route. This critical phase will deliver valuable insights into the geotechnical and hydrogeological conditions of the area, shaping the next stage of design. Having achieved full consent and CfD last year, Green Volt is on track to become the first commercial-scale floating offshore windfarm in Europe and one of the largest globally. Developed with our joint venture partner Vårgrønn, it will accelerate the UK's floating wind supply chain. We are delighted to announce that, along with our joint venture partner Vårgrønn we have now submitted our offshore consent application for Cenos offshore windfarm to the Marine Directorate - Licensing Operations Team. With a nominal capacity of up to 1,350 MW, Cenos is a pioneering floating offshore wind project and set to be one of the world’s largest in the years to come. Providing renewable power to the UK grid and to offshore oil and gas platforms in the UK North Sea, the Cenos project will build on synergies and scale from delivering our sister project Green Volt.
