INDI to IBIZA 🌴 #EveryMileMatters Project Indi will embark on a challenge to move a distance of 1,477 miles – equivalent to the distance from The Indi Club to Ibiza Airport, in just ONE WEEK! The ultimate challenge will take place on April 20th to 26th, and we aim to collectively achieve our target through rowing, cycling, walking, or running. All funds raised will support Project Indi. Due to the cost-of-living crisis and escalating expenses, the cost of providing our services is at an all-time high. We need your support so we can continue to make a difference and support vulnerable adults and children in Stoke-on-Trent and the surrounding areas. Get involved! Can you help us reach our goal? We’re looking for individuals, organisations, and sports groups to help us reach our target by contributing and pledging miles. Here’s how you can get involved: ❤️Pledge Your Miles: Set your personal target and track your miles independently. You can update us on your progress, or link to our group challenge on Strava. 💚Plan an Activity: Organise a group event to clock up some miles with your workplace, sports team or community group. 💙Join our Group Activities: Come along to our scheduled group events happening throughout the week to assist us in reaching our goal. 💛Exercise Bike Station: Drop by The Indi Club to use our exercise bikes and support our fundraising efforts. The bikes will be available all week, and we can reserve a slot for you. Every mile you contribute, no matter the distance, will support our mission! This inclusive challenge is open to all, and we invite everyone to participate. Every Mile Matters. Contact us to get involved! We would love to hear from you! ⬇️ 📧 info@projectindi.org.uk Support our journey ❤️ If you would like to donate to support our journey, please click the link below: https://lnkd.in/eir-ziQg We can't wait to get started! 🙌 #EveryMileMatters #INDItoIbiza #stokeontrent #Staffordshire #charity #fundraiser #fundraisingevent

#MovingForward, Part 45, to the "International Day of Charity" last Tuesday: At the #MovingForward Challenge, the Berghof team showed full commitment together for a good cause. It is the positive energy and the will to get better every day that unites and characterizes the Berghof team. This is precisely why Berghof's latest idea has also fallen on fertile ground: the #MovingForward Challenge. In this Challenge, everyone from the Berghof team who has registered for it has recorded their activities over a period of six weeks via the Teamfit GmbH app on their cell phone. However, this challenge was not just something for enthusiastic athletes. Because employees could earn points with any physical and mental activity that does them good mentally and physically. From a leisurely walk to a relaxing yoga session to a sweaty workout – there has been an activity to suit everyone's taste, because points could also be earned with everyday tasks such as housework or gardening. Every step and every minute of activity have counted toward the total number of points. The common goal: at least 5 million points. If, at the end of the day, more than 5 million points have been collected, Berghof will donate 2,000 euros to a charitable organization – well noted, in addition to the donations with which the company traditionally supports various organizations at Christmas. Has the Berghof team achieved this common goal? Find out here (link in comments). #MovingForward #BerghofGroup #YourInnovationHub #Team #Teamfit #Charity

Dedicated and passionate about guiding people and teams toward greatness. I thrive on empowering growth, every day.
Is it really a whole week since I set off to London to get ready for my first London Marathon? "How was it?" I've had a few people ask.. It's hard to put into words, but I'll have a go at a few that come to mind: 👟Epic 👟Euphoric 👟Tough 👟Emotional 👟Rewarding The hardest part was the months of training, the build up, the stress of working out how to get to London when there's train strikes. And then there's the packing - I've never packed so much for a weekend away (energy gels, hydration, snacks to name a few items that took up a fair bit of space). It's true what experienced runners told me - the marathon itself is your lap of honour. I can vouch for this - London felt like one big party and whilst I wished the pain towards the end away, the brilliant memories will last a lifetime. The crowd support was spectacular and uplifting. The rewarding bit comes down to smashing my charity target for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. All of the well wishes and donations flooding in as the big day arrived was a great motivator I'm so grateful for every one of them. And so to the next challenge - the Giacom mission to conquer the Keswick 3 Peaks. Can't wait! Just in case you didn't get a moment to sponsor me and would like to, here is my charity link. The Make-A-Wish Foundation make magical dreams come true for kids who are suffering. Such a great cause. https://lnkd.in/ejsSUTYB #londonmarathon #personalchallenge #running #makeawishfoundation #giacom #charitychallenge #greatplacetowork

As humans, we are inherently ‘busy’. Life throws all sorts of challenges at us which presents opportunities to improve our resilience. But we don’t often stop to reflect on our successes and even more rarely do we stop to celebrate just how much progress we’ve made. The weekend before last I completed the London Marathon Swim for the 6th year. This year I jacked it up by combining 3 events, giving me a total of 16km to swim in one day. My body coped really well with no major after effects. What a difference to 5 years previous. The picture on the left is me after the 2018 10km event. I had just finished one of the most harrowing blocks of chemo I’d ever been through and swimming was my way of coping with all I was going through. I weighed around 7 stone & was relying on a lot of morphine simply to function. Fast forward 5 years, I am stronger - both mentally & physically. Life is not without challenge but I am alive & I am truly living a full life. I don’t sweat the small stuff but I do find so much joy in life’s simple pleasures. I have also come to believe that our single biggest purpose in this life is to help others. With that in mind, by doing the London Marathon Swim this year, I am raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity. My justgiving link is below. Any sponsorship to wrap up this event will be massively appreciated by myself & the charity 😁 #swimming #marathon #leisure #deetermination #challenge #GOSH #fundraising #health #medalmonday #charity https://lnkd.in/e2XvcE6P

CEO of The Oxygen Works | Third Sector | Compassionate Leadership | Strategic Development | Operational Excellence
6,524 - this is the number of appointments we provided for practical support services at The Oxygen Works in 2023 £270,000 - this is our annual running costs, the amount we need just to keep our doors open 5 - this is the total number of employees £0 - this is the amount of statutory funding we receive Running a small, self-funded charity has always been a juggling act and a road riddled with challenges. In the current climate, we are facing a phenomenal increase in demand. With budget cuts affecting statutory service provision and challenges in accessing health and wellbeing support. Increasing prevalence and diagnoses of long-term and complex health conditions and greater awareness within the NHS of the quality and professionalism of our services all leading to record breaking numbers of individuals turning to The Oxygen Works for support. This is against a backdrop of increased competition for grant funding, a reduction in donations and general giving, and many individuals in financial hardship requiring additional subsidy to access support. It takes a whole community to keep a facility like The Oxygen Works functioning and funded. People like the inspirational Davy and Helen Duncan are the very foundation of our organisation. #theoxygenworks #nowbreathe #inverness #highlands #scottishhighlands #scottishcharity #supportlocalcharities
Anyone who has met Davy and his wife Helen at The Oxygen Works will have witnessed the resilience, inspiration and kindness that seems to radiate from this couple. When illness struck Davy during the pandemic, their lives would be forever changed. A series of health setbacks followed, including strokes and seizures, leaving Davy confined to a wheelchair. But through it all, Helen stood by his side. Together, they continue to work on Davy's rehabilitation, with Davy learning to walk and talk again. This dedication culminating on Davy being raised to his feet on their wedding day last April, to have his first dance with his new wife. Now, they stand on the brink of a new challenge, that once again demonstrates their resilience, determination and kindness to give back to The Oxygen Works and the community that Helen describes “We would be lost without them. Davy gets so much from coming here." Helen will push Davy in a specially designed wheelchair around the gruelling 26-mile Loch Ness Marathon. If ever there was a couple capable of instilling hope that adversity can be overcome with the love, perseverance and support of others it is Helen and Davy. You can read the full story written by John Ross for the Press and Journal by clicking on the link below. If you have been inspired to support our work there are many ways in which you can get involved: 🏃♀️ - you can donate to Helen and Davy's Just Giving page 👟 - you can join them at the LOCH NESS MARATHON LIMITED taking one of our charity spaces 🕺 - you can join us at our Spring Swing event on 7th July 2024 💰 - you can make a donation via our JustGiving page Please email us on contact@theoxygenworks.com for more information or see our website https://lnkd.in/eDNuaV8B #theoxygenworks #nowbreathe #communitysupport #scottishcharity #lochnessmarathon #highland #inverness #highlandsandislands
