So exciting! 🎉 Having received the 100-qubit quantum computer from Pasqal, a world leader in neutral atoms quantum computing technology, in Jülich we can connect #quantum computers to #supercomputers and thus use the best of both technologies. ⚡⚛️ We are very much looking forward to enabling researchers across Europe to use hybrid classical-quantum resources for tackling challenging scientific issues. 👌 Find out more about the intriguing potential of this: Watch the interviews Prof. Kristel Michielsen (head of JUNIQ & Quantum Computing at JSC) and Dr. Georges-Olivier Reymond (CEO and Co-Founder of Pasqal) gave on the day of delivery. Among other things, they share their joint goal of combining the still-young quantum technology with the already mature world of supercomputing. 👍 The quantum computer is part of the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) project HPCQS_EU – an initiative aiming to advance the integration of quantum systems with the European supercomputing infrastructure. 🖥️ ⚡The new device will be coupled with the JURECA DC supercomputer at JSC and thus expand our quantum computing user facility, JUNIQ. 🌐 As you can see in the video embedded in Pasqal’s post, the day of delivery itself was also very exciting. We enjoy and appreciate this positive vibe in our collaboration. 🤝 #FZJ #QuantumComputing #supercomputing #HPCQS #IBMQuantum #HPC
Pasqal’s Quantum Processing Unit at Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC) 🚀 A few months ago, as part of the HPCQS_EU project, we successfully delivered our neutral atom quantum computer at JSC, marking a significant step towards the integration of quantum computing into high-performance computing (HPC). This post on the occasion of the “International Day of Women and Girls in Science” 👩🎓 👩💻 👩🔬 👩🚀 from Careers at Forschungszentrum Jülich shows some of our great female colleagues and also our network “Jülich Women in HPC” (#JuWinHPC), which organized its own, very well-received event on this day. While our institute is very international and diverse 👍, #women are still underrepresented in science. This certainly also applies to the #HPC community. 🖥️ What goes without saying is that the low representation of women in many areas of #scientific #research is not due to a lack of expertise, but primarily to structural factors. This makes it all the more important to do something ourselves - as employers and as colleagues. 💪 🙌 🤝
