I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with over 15 years of experience in the field. I am currently accepting new patients and have immediate openings. My expertise lies in mental health across the lifespan, specifically in addressing conditions such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, and OCD. Committed to eliminating mental health stigma, my primary goal is to guide patients toward remission, emphasizing mental health as an integral part of overall well-being.

I take a holistic approach to psychiatric care. A complete assessment is done at every initial visit which includes a diagnostic interview and medication management if the person chooses. I provide information and the person chooses how they want to move forward. New patients: Text or email your full name, DOB, phone number, and email address and type of insurance to our office number. You will receive a questionnaire via email to make sure we can provide the care you need. We do have openings for virtual psychiatric appts and therapy. -Most of our appointments are virtual so electronic correspondence is required.

Over the past 40 years I’ve developed an understanding of the resulting functional difficulties that can arise when these conditions are present, tools to characterize them and strategies to treat or meliorate them. Our physicians specialize in the treatment of conditions such as anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder and have over 30 years of experience in psychiatry and mental health. We accept a variety of insurance plans from providers including Aetna, CareSource and United Healthcare. We also cover most Medicaid and Medicare plans as well. Dr Lemmen, Kristi Ramirez and I will provide comprehensive assessments to help you make informed decisions regarding your best treatment options. For many problems medication can be an extremely helpful tool. We specialize in finding the right medication(s) and ongoing collaboration with you to find the right dose to help you to feel and function at your best. If counseling is needed we can refer you to one of our Best Fit Counseling specialists.

I collaborate with teenagers, adults and older adults to work through a wide range of difficulties that are a part of the human experience: mood and anxiety related concerns, sleep difficulties, life transitions, identity questions, loss and grief, social anxiety, PTSD or traumatic events. I am in the credentialing process and as of 4/29/24 am in-network with Aetna, Cigna and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Virtual Network. Candice Slizewski is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in Michigan who has been practicing since 2023. She has been a registered nurse for more than 9 years and has worked in a trauma ER as well as in mental health case management and intensive mental health case management. Candice graduated with her MSN in February 2023 from Walden State University and become a board certified PMHNP in April of 2023. Candice uses her knowledge, training, and experience to relate to clients on a more personal level.

My practice is for psychotherapy only, I do not prescribe medication. I like to partner with clients to manage life's problems, build on their strengths, learn about themselves, and meet their life goals in a supportive, safe, non-judgmental, and respectful atmosphere. I am a former faculty member of the University of Michigan School of Nursing where I taught undergraduate and graduate level theory and clinical courses in psychiatric nursing. I have also taught graduate students at Michigan State University and practiced in a variety of settings.

About me: I am NCCPA Board-Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) at Michigan Advanced Psychiatry. I received dual Bachelor of Science degrees from Michigan State University and a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Wayne State University. I practiced for seven years in pediatric emergency medicine and behavioral health before finding her true calling in mental health.

I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I am licensed to care for clients across their lifespan. I have worked for community mental health caring for children and adults. Good health includes mental as well as physical health. I prescribe medications when necessary but I also believe there is a place for natural remedies in the management of mental health. I am an associate member of the Psychiatric Association of Naturopathic Physicians and will give consideration to treatment interventions other than psychotropic medications.
