As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I am passionate about helping women work through past/current traumas, anxiety and depression. I am a marriage and family therapist associate licensed in Washington State and a clinical ethics consultant. I have been providing psychotherapy for the past eight years. I work with diverse populations, including but not limited to refugee communities, schools, community clinics, and hospitals. I also work with those struggling with mood disorders, relationship problems, and addictions. I have specialized experience and training in assisting those overcoming trauma, including child sexual abuse. My goal as a psychotherapist is to provide all my clients with a safe environment where they can comfortably share their experiences.

Many of my clients would agree that what they look for in a counselor is someone who "has been there themselves." They look for someone that has the education and experience to successfully assist them. I have that combination of personal experiences and educational background. I am practicing via telehealth. I am committed to helping individuals, families, businesses, communities move forward. I bring 40+ years of clinical experience which includes work with combat, childhood and complex PTSD and trauma including Holocaust survivors. I have been recognized by The Southern Poverty Law Center for contributions to promote justice. I work with cancer patients and their families as a member of the Association of Oncology Social Workers. Psychotherapy with trauma survivors has helped clients lead productive and happier lives despite strife and adversity.

My focus is to serve youth and adults through life transitions. I additionally, love working with couples in any stage of their relationship (premarital, committed, or married). I employ a multi-generational approach and strongly believe that the family you were born into effects the person you are today. I also recognize that culture and heritage play into how you create meaning, which is why I take every opportunity to honor this part of individuals, as it is an important part of my identity.

My theoretical approach is rooted in psycho-dynamic theory. I follow family systems when working in a family therapy session. I and the client contextualize ecological factors such as cultural identities, variations of human sexuality, diversity, spirituality, and the impact of social development. Emphasis is placed on patients' verbal and non-verbal styles of communication for their treatment process. The overall intervention is the growth of the individual as he/she/they/them pass through tasks of life.

I draw from different treatment modalities that are rooted in both somatic and cognitive approaches. I am trained in IFS, EMDR, Clinical Hypnotherapy, CBT, and DBT. I have been practicing for 20 years with individuals & families.

The counseling room is a place of openness with no judgement. I come from a Person Centered Theoretical background, meaning there is unconditional care for every aspect of your experience. I support clients in evaluating their thought processes, the actions that follow, and if that is meeting their needs or not. I also provide Clinical Supervision for associates, and Supervision of Supervision.

Do you ever wonder, despite all your knowledge and efforts for growth that you still end up in a pattern of doing the same thing over and over again? Well, it's not your fault and there is a way to change it. When we are free to truly see and understand the connection to our brain, body, mind, and relationships, we can actually rewire our brains to build new neural pathways for new ways of thinking and being. Most of what we do, we have no idea why we do it; almost 85% is not on a conscious level.
