As one of South Dakota’s few registered art therapists (ATR), I am dually credentialed and prepared to address both mental health and chemical dependency issues. I enjoy working with creative adults, adolescents, and children using therapeutic discussion, meaningful art making, or both. I am trained in Internal Family Systems through the IFS Online Circle. I have also completed Phase 1 Brainspotting training to address a variety of mental health and trauma-related struggles.

Mental health impacts each of us differently, making things even more important to not compare or judge how each of us feel and respond to life’s stressors. One of the most rewarding components of my job is truly meeting each client in their defined “time of need”. During your therapy journey, we spend time exploring your emotions, thoughts and behaviors, increasing your self-awareness and “tweaking” the tools to utilize in managing your emotions healthier.

I am a Qualified Mental Health Professional, Licensed Professional Counselor - Mental Health, Licensed Addiction Counselor, Approved Clinical Supervisor, Approved Supervisor Status, and National Certified Counselor. I have over 30 years of experience in working with individuals, couples, and families (children, adolescents and adults). I have also provided counseling and education to healthcare professionals, legal professionals, athletes, educational organizations, workplace environments, and community groups.

Has your child started behaving out of character leading you to wonder what they are going through? Perhaps they are struggling with feelings of sadness, anxiety, or anger. As a supervisee actively pursuing licensure for my PIP and RPT, I am passionate about utilizing play-based techniques and art therapies to promote growth for children ages 3-11. Play and creativity is the way a child communicates and processes the world around them. My goal is to offer a safe space for children to be themselves so they can navigate experiences through their own lenses.

It is a gift to listen and lean in to each of my client’s unique stories as we navigate the difficulties and joys of life. Working with individuals, couples, and families, I seek to offer an accepting, warm, and encouraging space where people learn about, and understand themselves, in light of the world around them. Though I primarily work with teens and families, I do enjoy working with adults and couples as well. I especially enjoy counseling those who have difficulties with depression, anxiety, neurodivergence, Christian/spiritual difficulties, and behavioral issues.

I provide a holistic and non-judgemental approach to clients to help them feel safe, heard, and validated. Together we will discover what works best for you and create reachable goals. I work with all personal, relational, sexual, and psychological issues. Through one-on-one therapy, I am committed and dedicated to supporting you every step of the way. As for couples therapy, we will work through difficult relationship dynamics and conflicts while we strengthen communication and intimacy!
